Just got this this morning.
Grand Targhee Resort has made the difficult decision to not hold the 2021 Targhee Fest and the 2021 Grand Targhee Bluegrass Festival due to the uncertainty around COVID-19.
Plans and potential dates for both festivals for 2022 and beyond have not been determined. The resort will not be taking lodging reservations for summer 2022 at this time.
Always a highlight of my summer. Damn.
I even splurged for a reso for four nights at the nice lodge on the mountain. I booked that in August of 2019.
Oh well, so many things I'l never take for granted anymore.

A small nightmare ensues. I booked it with a credit card I no longer have and Chase can't find any record of me having an account. I once had a freakin' home equity loan with these guys.
Write us a letter. Arrggggg!

Ahhh, Targhee to the rescue. Just called right after I posted that and they're gonna void the refund and put it on a current card. Targhee folks are the bomb. LOVE Carol. Chase can go to hell.

Any fest accepting money for
Any fest accepting money for Spring/Summer 2021 are doing so in bad faith. I get it -- secure some artist w/deposits in case the fest happens - but being that this isn't a regional or specific fest problem stay strong, don't commit,& know that you wont lose an artist as there is nowhere else to play. Regroup strong for 2022.

Shows without strict social
Shows without strict social distancing protocols in place that are enforced will happen again this year. The entertainment and hospitality (performance, hotels, restaurants, etc) industries are trying to piece together a "passport" program that will be available only to those who have been fully vaccinated or previously infected with a certain level of antibodies. Holding this passport will allow you to attend events. They are still working out legal and logistic kinks but hope to have it in place by late 2021 in order to have what we know as normal shows by then. Right now the insurance companies are refusing to underwrite coverage for these "normal" shows. Chances are some people will run some shows regardless but they run the risk of losing all if the event becomes a super spreader situation. Bands who knowingly play at events like that also will face legal risk.
Not the best news but believe me, promoters and talent are brainstorming everything under the sun to get back to work. For awhile, some upstanding performers were continuing to pay their crew/employees but that's becoming rarer each day.

Telluride Blues and Brews is
Telluride Blues and Brews is still a maybe. https://jambands.com/news/2021/01/28/telluride-blues-brews-festival-shar...
Organizers of the Telluride Blues & Brews Festival have confirmed that the three-day celebration will take place at Colorado’s Telluride Town Park on Sept. 17-19, 2021, “but only if it is safe to do so.”
Added officials from SBG Productions in a lengthy statement, “We are working closely with health officials, while monitoring the success of the vaccines and keeping an eye on the changing state of live events for this summer. When we have a clearer picture of what events will look like and receive a ‘green light’ from officials, we will provide additional updates.”
In turn, tickets for the 2021 Telluride Blues & Brews will not go on sale until the event is definitely a-go.
