Targhee Bluegrass August 9-11

Forums:

Gonna hit the Targhee Bluegrass Festival next weekend on the border of Wyoming and Idaho by the Tetons. Another fun lineup. No stream that I know of.

Even gonna have a Zoner meet-up with Alias and Redneck. First one since JJ Wood. Hoping to get Rick P out there some year.

Haven't seen the guy who owned the restaurant in Driggs post in a while. I think he was looking to get out of the biz.

This forecast looks superb but at 7,400 feet base elevation, mountain weather could / will change. There's often afternoon showers. But this looks promising 5 days out.

High 80's at that elevation is HOT!

SHOULDDA!  Still got time, ain't til next weekend!

Great festival weekend after it got done raining Thursday. Got down to 39 degrees Monday morning, but temps mainly in the low 70's for the high.

Great vibes, great folks. Sweet to hang with Alias and Redneck and watch them catch the Targhee vibe.

Some great shows, but a highlight was watching Del McCoury play with Sam Bush and Jerry Douglas as a trio after the Travelin' McCourys plane was delayed. Everyone, including the artists, thoroughly enjoyed the impromptu rare treat, both the music and the banter. The McCourys walked onstage about 45:00 in and Del said "You can go home. I got a new band." Then they all hung and played for another half-hour. Should be up on the archives within a few weeks. My buddy taped it.

Sounds like a blast Slick.
