Super Tuesday

March 3.  Hopefully a single contender will come out as the presumptive nominee so we can get down to the real work at hand.

I generally consider myself left of center, though my opinions on various subjects are fluid and, naturally, my spot on the left/right spectrum is fluid.  Bernie is a little left for me but I've made up my mind that he's my candidate.  I don't hear anyone else talking about taking money out of politics and he's the only candidate with a vision- the guy's track record speaks for itself.  He's genuine and has been extremely consistent with his values for his decades length time in public service.  I do understand the whole pragmatic vs idealistic debate with our political structure.  I think people are just so upset and have lost faith in our institutions which is evident from the rise of populism.  Unfortunately, we got the fake populist candidate last time.  Bernie is the real populist candidate and I think his movement is just too big to be snuffed out again.

"Fox is already pulling the Castro card"

Yeah, because it's unfair to point out that he has good things to say about a mass murderer (none of them true BTW) who kept that island in poverty for the past 60 years.

But Kim Jung-un and Putin and Xi Jinping are angels ?

I understand what you're saying Jay. And I agree with a lot of it. I waited in line a long time in the cold to vote for Bernie in Utah's primary in 2016.

But my personal opinion is this: the bottom line is the Dems need to turn the Senate and it won't happen with Bernie at the top of the ticket. And it's gonna royally piss off all the idealistic Bernie lovers, of which I could be if I wasn't more of a realist. I heard him in San Diego the other night and I swear I thought a red hat and white beard would appear on him any minute. I like a lot of what he's saying. I've been protesting shit a long time. But I'm thinking with McConnell as majority leader in the Senate, his ideas are just words, with no realistic chance of becoming law.

The Dems just passed Prescription drug reform in the house. McConnell's sitting on it. Americans want it. But that doesn't matter to Mitch.

My personal opinion is a Biden / Klobuchar ticket will not only win the midwest states the Dems need to flush the turd on November 3rd, but will also provide comfort to those thinking of voting for a Dem for Senate. People like to know things won't get too out of whack, and they like the checks and balances inherent in our democracy. Biden and Klobuchar both have a history of working across the aisle. I'm thinking many will be willing to have a check on Bernie with a Republican Senate, but wouldn't worry AS MUCH with Biden / Klobuchar. Then again, this is just one person's opinion, it's all speculation, and I could be totally full of shit.
