Phil Lesh & Friends, Nathaniel Rateliff and More Added to Georgia Comes Alive Lineup

Just in time for the Georgia Senate runoff, HeadCount is throwing Georgia Comes Alive, a special virtual festival featuring 40 artists. After announcing the initial lineup on Dec. 16, the event has added more artists: Phil Lesh & Friends, Nathaniel Rateliff, Grouplove, Houndmouth and Mike Mills ft. Big Something.

Those performers join previously-announced acts such as Bob Weir, Dave Matthews, Diplo and more.

Fans can access the stream by donating any amount of money at GeorgiaComesAlive.com.

Georgia Comes Alive will be presented similarly to the very successful Democracy Comes Alive, Quarantine Comes Alive and Justice Comes Alive events, which collectively raised close to $300,000 for a variety of causes.

PL+F?

Lesh, Weir, Haynes, Chementi, and Lane?

45 acts in one day... I wonder how long each act will play?

Or is it more like a fest w/ different bands on different stages?

I'm guessing it will be 45 different stages: A Virtual Festival to Get Out the Vote.

Each band on each different stage will play for an entire day...

This is gonna be nuts.

By the looks of it, each act plays one-at-a-time, in succession.

But I wondered if there's any chance of getting something closer to a full PLF set or show.

I'd be surprised if any group plays more than a half hour.

Allman Betts Band

good stuff

I'd be surprised if any artist or group plays more than two or three songs, with most of the bands, and almost certainly Phil doing those group zoom deals.

And the "Friends" who will play with Phil will probably be some combination of Stu Allan, Grahame, Jason Crosby, Ross James, Scott Law, Alex Koford, Elliot Peck and maybe a drummer or maybe not.

Cue the complaining.

Cue the complaining

LOL Tom!

But I love Phil

And the band was way better without Mickey.
IMHO

^^^ Dude yeah, No

Is that a real poncho or is that a Sears poncho?

So, Ratdog with no lead guitar and Schools on bass? At least they're keeping expectations realistic with the name.

I still wish them a good gig, it's for a good cause.

It's 2:52 PST and Los Lobos is about to get their time, with Phil coming up two acts later.

It seems each act is getting about ten minutes so far, so maybe 20 minutes/half hour from now for Phil's time.

Galactic was predictably a massive disappointment. Not because they were bad, but because they're not a group of their own anymore, they're now just a backing band for that AAA level singer. Meh on her own, but making a great band irrelevant is so sad.

It'll be nice to hear a little Phil.

Uncle Johns band

Thanks for the link

I figured that's what they'd play. I was hoping they'd get time for Ripple or Box of Rain, but it seems every group gets ten minutes.

Pretty underwhelming, and the drummer being virtual, not on Phil's deck with the others didn't work. He was a bit off the beat, dragging a bit. In that gentle setting they probably should have just gone without the drummer.

Allman Brothers up in a couple of minutes, and that will likely rock, as it will be an archive bit.

Is there a schedule posted somewhere?

Schedule is here. Scroll down a bit...
