Thanks, guys. I'm super psyched. I'd love to hear some details, if you remember some. I saw Genesis only once, in 2005, was it? The last tour, third night in Philly. I loved the older stuff, and I appreciate Darryl Sturmer, but it wasn't Steve. Steve would've elevated that show. Ahhhhh, in dreams...
I don't know why I haven't seen Mr. Hackett yet, just not in the cards until now. Also, I haven't kept up entirely. I'll have to catch up on his recent catalogue.
II saw that he recently played When The Heart Rules The Mind. I wouldn't mind seeing that one. I grew up loving prog and pop prog. I didn't care. Oh, man, I can't wait.
Whether it's just needing the money, or the love of playing (both?), Hackett seems to be in perpetual tour mode, which is awesome for us old Genesis heads.
I've been lucky enough to catch him half a dozen or so times since he starting hitting the road regularly and I've always come away with newfound appreciation for his skills and a greater love for 70's Genesis.
But I'm not a big fan of whole album shows in general (or his solo stuff), and since he always features at least a couple songs from Selling England by the Pound anyway (and the Fifth of Firth at every shoe), I'm thinking this will be my least anticipation-filled tour to date.
So while I will still definitely go to at least one show, I will most likely not travel out of the area as I sometimes have in the past.
That said, if this was my first time seeing him, I would be super stoked! The band is tight and they really do the music justice (just focus on Hackett and try not to let fake Gabriel weird you out too much. lol).
My cousin is a big Genesis freak and has gone on that progressive rock cruise for the past couple / few years ... pretty sure Hackett has been on it as a "regular".
Hey, guys. Hey, Googs. Thanks for that. I'm so psyched. I'm going to see After the Ordeal. Weird. So cool. And I'm going to see a full Firth of Fifth and Cinema Show and The Battle of Epping Forest... What?! Awesome. Plus his first set. Awww, man. Time to start brushing up on his solo albums. I never listened to them much. And I'm going to review on a keyboard for sure. Typing out on a small phone sucks.

The shows were AWESOME!
I do love the Gabriel era, though.
