2017 North America, Europe, UK & Ireland tour dates revealed...

Former Genesis guitarist and prog legend Steve Hackett is returning with an exciting new show in 2017 after his outstanding performance at this year's inaugural Stone Free Festival.

Celebrating the 40th anniversary of the classic Genesis album Wind and Wuthering, Steve and his band will be performing several tracks from the album as well as fan favourites such as 'The Musical Box' and other Genesis numbers never performed before by Steve's band such as 'Inside & Out' and 'Anyway'.

"I'm excited to bring my latest show involving a new set of Genesis and Hackett numbers to audiences in 2017!" - Steve Hackett

With an established solo career spanning over 40 years, Steve will also be performing some of his popular hits such as 'The Steppes', 'Serpentine', 'Every Day' and the first ever live performance of 'Rise Again' from his 1999 album Darktown. Steve will also be introducing fans to new music from his forthcoming album, which is due out early spring 2017.

Joining Steve on the tour are musicians Roger King (keyboards), Gary O'Toole (drums/percussion), Rob Townsend (saxes/flutes), Nick Beggs (bass, stick & twelve string) and Nad Sylvan on vocals.

Since the 1970's Steve has had a remarkable musical career, releasing more than 30 solo albums, seven Genesis albums and working alongside Steve Howe of YES with supergroup GTR. Renowned for being one of the most innovative rock musicians of our time, in 2010 he was inducted into the Rock Hall Of Fame.

Continuing to impress with his outstanding live shows 'Genesis Revisted with Classic Hackett' is a tour not to missed in 2017.

I'm taking my wife to Nashville for the two shows at the City Winery in February 2017. I've never been to Nashville, but it should be a great way to spend Valentine's Day with the love of my life.

We plan on visiting the Country Music Hall of Fame, The Ryman, and other historic places.

Who has some other recommendations for good music, places to stay, and places to eat in Nashville?

awesome! hopefully he'll hit the west coast in the summer/fall.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

just spent a few days in Nashville in September... lower Broadway has more bands playing per square block than anywhere I've ever been or heard about... basically bar window front after window front on the street level, with three or four stories of bars above (all with stages and bands playing on weekends... some stages don't have bands during the week when it's slow).

Unfortunately, if you want to stay within walking distance to Broadway, the hotels are insanely expensive and overrated (a 3 star is more like a 2 star).  There is also a ton of construction going on, so between that, the thin walls and party goers, finding an affordable quiet room can be a challenge (we used points to get into a better class of hotel, which took the sting out of if a bit).

Fortunately, you will be there on a weekday, so you should be able to get into just about any place to see bands and there should only be a few scattered groups of really annoying partiers, whereas weekends are slammed with them (the city brings in a water truck at like 3am to wash the puke and piss off of the sidewalks/curbs).

most restaurants also have descent live music, even the food court at the airport!

after listening, Im reminded that other than Unquiet Slumbers for the Sleepers.../...In That Quiet Earth, I'm not really that into this album... it's the beginning of the Phil Collins crooning era, which is where they lose me, so I'm glad to read that they aren't playing the whole album.

Hall, I agree with you on the Collins crooning bits, but I've always been a fan of Eleventh Earl of Mar and One For The Vine.

IMO Phil was stronger when he had hair, but, like Samson, his strength declined as the follicles fell out. surprise

I'm looking forward to hearing Inside And Out from the Spot The Pigeon EP. It was Hackett's final recording with Genesis.

I actually dig those songs, too.

hey, have you seen Teejay on the new board?  he would normally be all over this...

Why is the Netherlands sold out?!

Bump for Steve Hackett. Going to Nashville in two days! smiley

just tried to get a ticket to the Ithaca show.. sold out everywhere

Steve and his band were in fine form tonight.

They centered on songs from Wind And Wuthering, but the set included a nice overview of Hackett's tenure with Genesis.

One hour of Hackett's newer solo material + 1.5 hours of classic Genesis.

Here's an incomplete set list.

Upon closer scrutiny and some sleep, strike LOS ENDOS and insert

UNQUIET SLUMBERS FOR THE SLEEPERS...IN THAT QUIET EARTH.

(Keeping with the Wind And Wuthering theme.)

Tonight's show was high energy from the start. Steve mentioned his sore throat and grabbed a cough drop and got to work. The band interaction outdid last night's fine effort.

Hackett played mostly repeats in a different order from last night's show.

Omitted songs from night one

As always, GTTS.

fishcane, have a great show tomorrow.

jlp, give some classic Genesis a listen. They have an incredible body of work with Peter and some with Phil as well.

I will upload some images when I have the time.

Anyone going to the NJ show tonight?

great show last night... Ill post a couple of pix in a bit

They played Supper's Ready on Tuesday in Grand Rapids. Sighfrown.

gonna check him out again tomm with the Buffalo Philharmonic.....

Great show last night with the Buffalo Philharmonic!!! The only orchestra show of the tour and the last US stop was very well played. The setlist was quite shaken up from the rest of the tour and the focus solely on Genesis material. While shorter then other shows of the tour by about half an hour, it was made up for by a monstrous Suppers Ready.
