St John USVI questions

Forums:

Hello Zone

My first post on this new site after many years mostly lurking on the old one.

Headed to St John USVI on Sunday.

Looking for any recommendations. I've been before.

Any favorite snorkeling locations, hikes, restaurants, bars, music. etc.

Thanks!
Strobe

I know the real ilurkbecauseicanttypefast and this guy is an imposter.

I can't see anyone stealing a handle for a vacation tip but yeah, I guess anything is possible.

I'm not an imposter.

I've had this handle on the Philzone for 15 years.

I'm from Vermont and there are Zoners who know me.

Vermont is very controversial on Viva, I wouldn't go around advertising it.

- heard as he was dragged away kicking and screaming by the VLZSA.

Snorkling -Hawksnest, Maho, Francis, Salt Pond

Hopefully you've rented a house somewhere around Coral Bay

You'll need to rent a jeep

It's a quiet island with not much shopping or nightlife

Reef Trail Hike -you need a reservation

Naw, I just made that up.

Spend as much time on the Coral Bay side as possible, and don't miss getting out to Lameshure. Miss Lucy's is near there, awesome Carribean food. If you go to Annaberg, take the Leinster Bay trail a ways to the very quiet beaches. Go to Caneel Bay and walk around the grounds around dinnertime when you're as dirty and sweaty as possible to freak out the resort types.

There's a small restaurant owned by a zoner close to where you get off the ferry from St. Thomas. I don't remember the name but see it in my mind.

St. Johns kind of reminds me of a small mountain town in Colorado in that it's full of long haired American guys. I imagine they have women with them but I didn't see any.

We had a cab driver drive us to the most remote beach he knew of. The snorkeling was like being in an aquarium. Spectacular!!
