One look at the initials and I knew who it was and who started the thread. Happy New Year, Rick. That was one hell of a night. I probably lost 20 lbs in sweat on the floor. The band was the love child of the E Street Band and the Asbury Jukes. The best horn section they ever had as well.
I'm going to go on record here saying that I have a problem with musicians being segregated by race or gender. If I had my way, there wouldn't be great blue-eyed soul singers or female bass players. To me, that does the musician a disservice. Why not just leave it as great soul singes and great bassists?

Funny thing is that I would bet that some of the musicians Coyotte has had in DC6 have probably been in the Jukes at some point. I talked to a former band member early last year and he told me that the official count of Asbury Jukes, past, present, living and deceased, has passed the 200 mark.

The ones that are musicians posting on this thread, Can only hope and wish they are still Doing what Johnny is at, 71 years young, The man has the energy still of 20 year old, When ever Johnny is around I always go meet up with him before and after the show. The Only Time I shared the stage with him was at The Chance in Poughkeepsie, After some heavy drinking and parting He called me out to do Havin' a Party with him... Great time!!! I wish he would come back around with The Poor Fools once again,It was great to see him play instruments, instead of just singing and playing harp...
