Sometimes you stumble upon the best version

Forums:

I've been a huge fan of Lucinda Williams since I heard her first album. Changed The Locks grabbed me right away when her eponymous third album came out. I've heard many live versions over the years, some plaintive country twangy, some more rocking, but this version which came up in my YouTube feed this evening blows them all away. Da'yum. The guitar work by  Kenny Vaughan is explosive.

Lucinda Williams - Changed The Locks

I wish I was an apple

A hanging on a tree

And everytime that Cindy passed

She'd take a bite of me

Kenny Vaughn at the guitar!  First heard her opening for the Allman Brothers at Oak Mountain.
