Some good news out of the US Supreme Court

So a group of young people is suing the federal government for failing to take sufficient action on climate change under a rather novel legal theory that the atmosphere is a public trust resource (sort of like beaches) that the government must maintain for the benefit of the people.   The case was supposed to go to trial in federal district court in Eugene last week, but the government asked the Supreme Court to intervene and stop the proceedings.  Considering the current makeup of the Court, I assumed that the lawsuit would be tossed, but surprisingly, the justices have allowed the case to proceed without weighing in on the merits:
