So is Phil back on the Modulus?

Forums:

He played it at his sit-ins with Midnight North and Twiddle on Saturday and again last night with Midnight North at the Cap: https://www.facebook.com/RelixMagazine/videos/10154597327007307/

It's definitely not as full and clear as it was 10 years ago, but damn if I don't recognize that good old thumpy, springy bottom end. Skip up to 1:17:00 or so in the Relix video for a pretty decent Cumberland.

He really turns up in Midnight North's last song, starting a little after 1:26. Bombs, I tell ya.

And then he shows up with Stella Blue's Band at around 2:25 -- even the tune-up sounds great.

Perhaps he leaves some of his Moduli in his NYC apartment and keeps his Short Scale Custom Omega Alembic at TXR?
(I am pretty sure he has many modulus basses but he ultimately defaulted to a 6 string Walnut topped one with a Chechen Fingerboard.)

That would make sense, although he's played the Alembic exclusively with Phil and Friends at the Cap in the last several years.

My other observation from watching these clips is that that Stella Blue's Band is really good. Their Jerry guy is excellent and they're very tight.

Steve Liseman(the bobby dude) is on the squawk box on MSNBC....they usually play Garcia's not the big room..it is always a fun night out..

FUN FUN night at the Cap!!

Phil had a blast playing with the Stella Blues boys!
