So glad the shows weren't all 21+ in the old days

Forums:

IMO that really sucks, I'm very close with my son and I would love to be bringing him to shows, but he's too young to get in to many of them.

Recent DNB for example. He's seen DNB, but not since he was too young to really appreciate it.

I didn't turn 21 until middle of 1978 and I would have missed out on a ton of good shows if that had been the rule back then.

i used to hang out with an older crowd when i was a teenager. i would have easily missed 100 shows or more.i was lucky i got to see a lot of grate bands in their prime.its unfortunate that you only can take him to mostly shed shows. the smaller venues are probably off limits.

The Chapel in SF has some cool all ages shows.

It was not so much about selling booze in the old days.

The drinking age was 18 when I was 18, then it was 19, then it went to 21 when I was 20.  We were grandfathered in.  But yeah, I saw the GD when I was 15, good thing there was no age limit for shows.

When I first started going to Grateful Dead shows there was a separate room called "the bar" where those 21+ could drink. Plenty of weed out on the dance floor, but no beer sloshing around.

Wetlands was 21 and over...  didn't stop us we usually knew a few people over 21 or found someone cool and we would rub the stamp on to our hands off a fresh one. I think the doorman looked the other way too ( he had to know )

Oh Yeah look for Winery type shows these are usually all ages. If they serve food they usually can allow under 21
