Slayer - The Final Campaign

Forums:

This looks like a crazy night. I will have to check one of these out. Their "farewell" tour has been going for quite some time now. I wonder if they are really done?

Man that’s a killer lineup for real

And ill bet every nazi in ND shows shows up at the fargodome

I saw Slayer with Megadeth and Anthrax in Louisville about 10 years ago and there couldn't have been more than a few hundred people there. Pretty shocking. I felt like Clark Griswold pulling up to Wally World when we got to the parking lot. Thought maybe we were at the wrong venue.

Not sure why they're playing the biggest indoor venue in the city. I might hit that show for cheap.

Sioux Falls, Fargo, Omaha, Billings?   Folks out on the high plains eat that shit up.

Time to break out the acid and goat head mask.

Aptly named for this gig

I didn’t know Ministry was still around, interesting bill.

I just noticed Phil Ansel errrrrr Philip H. Anselmo on that list. Is he rebranding himself, or taken on a career as a journalist?

haven't seen them since 1989

that's good enough

Anselmo is one of the biggest douches out there.  After all the shit, now that Vinny has passed he's gonna become a Pantera cover band???  Fuck him.

I have this in the collection -

I found a pre-sale code online - "Blood". I got a pretty decent seat in Asheville. I used to park my coat in the same section for xmas jam years ago when I attended that one on a regular basis. Should be fun. Looking forward to way too much metal for one night.

Ministry at the Warfield was the loudest concert I have every been to.

I saw Ministry one time on the N.W.O tour in '92 in Phoenix, AZ. That show is still in my top 5 craziest concert experiences. The band was great, (very loud), and the crowd was insane. Al Jourgensen came on stage with this huge Bush Sr. head/mask on.

I don't listen to metal that often anymore but I don't listen to a lot of jambands either

Looks like fun to me. Real good chance I'll be flying in for the Oakland gig

I mean why not? Surely it'll be a lot more energy than Dead Co show I saw last week.

Biggest, most intense mosh pit I've ever seen, and I've seen a few, was during Ministry's set at the second Lollapalooza in 1992. The music and the HUGE churning mass of humanity on the lawn at Shoreline in the late afternoon was truly awesome and something I remember clearly to this day.

But that was 27 years ago.

I've seen all those bands, but I've always been more impressed than enjoyed these type of shows. It's heavy & you get your ya-ya's out for sure, but it all gets very samey after a few minutes.

But I might go just to see all the XXL 40/50-somethings squeezed into their old medium sized rock t-shirts and banging their heads without much hair left.

I went to the Asheville show on Saturday, pretty solid from start to finish. Phil Anselmo played 40 mins, Ministry played 50 mins, Primus 60 mins, Slayer 90 mins.  I am a fan of all the bands and in my opinion, Primus stole the show. They are so tight, great set as well. Here are a couple pics from my spot.

Yes, in front of the stage was a mess most of the show except for Primus. Most people there I talked to had not seen them before which amazes me.

Surprised that Black Magic isn't on that setlist. Jesus Saves is a nice addition though. Man I'm gonna miss these guys. RIP Jeff.
