Shootings in Vegas

Forums:

Thank God for guns.

What would we be without them?

("Fucking Liberal" alert. Despite the fact that I'm not really a Fucking Liberal)

But fuck guns.

Maybe this has something to do with OJ's release.

Fuck OJ.

(I get that this has nothing to do with OJ. It's just a fucked up situation, and it's all on the news at the same time. Carry on.)

At Least 50 Dead, 200 Wounded In Shooting At Las Vegas Country Music Festival

It was the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history.

By Ed Mazza, Rebecca Shapiro, Alana Horowitz Satlin, and Dominique Mosbergen

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/las-vegas-mandalay-bay-festival-shoo...

This is just horrible. These folks were just out trying to have fun (admittedly, Bro Country ain't my cup of tea, but no one deserves to die for poor taste in Art), and paid the ultimate price. The police and any other workers at the festival were just trying to earn a living, not their deaths.

It is beyond tiresome to have to have that nagging thought that something like this may happen any time you are out just trying to enjoy life and have a little fun. Having our concert experiences, sports-attendance and any large event turned into a DMZ sucks.

Why so much anger? Why so much violence? What is wrong with people? This is not the Golden Rule we all have been taught.

My prayers go out to all of the poor souls who died in Las Vegas, their families and loved ones, and to all of the injured as they reassemble their fractured lives.

terrible. So fucked up. Guns-Yay! not.  Hmmm, think I'll go buy a machine gun. You know, for hunting and home protection.  Guns dont kill people, assholes with little dicks and guns kill people.  Remember guns dont kill people, mentally ill people with machine guns kills people.

BTW- that tweet about the trophy isnt real is it?

>no one deserves to die for poor taste in Art

poor taste

this hits close to home WE ALL LOVE MUSIC HERE

One thing about the last shooting at the gay club - Pulse before this one takes over as the 'highest count' in modern history.  It took HOURS for the police to break into the bar and one can only ask - if the folks inside weren't gay would the incident have been over in 10 minutes like the one in vegas?

>>I  knew nugs would find a way to politicize this.<<

As long as Republicans  continue to block any meaningful gun control, these types of incidents will be politicized, Hounder. IMO, only assholes refuse to recognize this reality.

And what Nugs wrote...Fuck the NRA and their apologists!

I'm for deer hunting and game management

I'm not for human hunting and this ain't the 1920's

Soft target Domestic Terrorism.

What the FUCK is going on with this country.

Condolences to all affected.

casino refugee

400+ taken to the hospitals now...

he killed himself POS

It is never the right time to talk about gun control, it is always "too soon".

Fuck the GOP and the NRA, they are essentially the same thing now.

This country is nuts.

Please someone name their Country band " The NRA Puppets"

Hillman will be by shortly to let you all know if he didn't have a gun he would have done it with a knife.

Nevada Gun Laws are non existent.

No registration needed.

No limit to how many possesed.

Assault Rifles are legal.

>> I knew nugs would find a way to politicize this.

The NRA politicized "this" a long time ago.

Watching the CBS coverage online.

A surprisingly astute talking head was asking about the pending legislation re:silencers, and how the lack of them on these guns let authorities pinpoint the location of the shooter.

All who know this guy are shocked. "Just a regular guy."

Heart strength to the families of those lost and best wishes to the wounded.

How nice that Orange Mussolini tweeted his "warm condolences". Warm? Really?

Time to go to work.

Haven't delved into it entirely, but it looks like the first responders in Las Vegas deserve great credit for their actions, quick response, and bringing this to an end as quickly as possible.

Grateful they were there to call upon.

Double post.

With all the Militarization already going on with Police Departments around the country.

Can you imagine how this is gonna play out?

Mass shooting in the US?  In Vegas?

What are the odds?

So what does GOD have to say about this Willie?

They found the shooter dead in his hotel room.  I guess we can thank the shooter for putting an end to it as soon as possible.

Fuck the NRA!!!

Just a terrible, terrible, thing.  My heart goes out to everyone involved.. I think we can all empathize with people having fun with their friends at a concert.

Wild video:    https://www.instagram.com/p/BZvBP0-HEJA/

Just an observation:  I saw at least two people running for their lives but trying not to spill their drink.

^ LOL.  Not to laugh at an unspeakably awful situation, but I did also notice that several photos had folks strategically maneuvering NOT To spill their drinks.

Crazy shit, I wonder if this dude will turn out to be a Bundy disciple.

Just horrible.

>>>They found the shooter dead in his hotel room.  I guess we can thank the shooter for putting an end to it as soon as possible.

Word I heard was he shot himself as the police blasted his door open.

Would police have shot him if he didn't shoot himself?

What do you think, slacker?

NPR is reporting someone was going through the crowd warming people this was coming before the shooting happened.

Yes they would have shot him in the face. They always do.

Horrific.  All those folks just wanted to go to a show, kick up their heels, and have a good time listening to music.

They say the shooter moved from Florida to Vegas because "he loved gambling."  I am going to go out on a limb and guess he was deeply in debt from his gambling habit and decided to take out his revenge on the city that ruined him.  POS should have instead just gone out to the desert and done himself in out there to become buzzard meat.

>> POS should have instead just gone out to the desert and done himself in out there to become buzzard meat. <<

Seems to be a common theme with these mass shootings. But, the guns (automatic) don't make it worse, right?

Terrible ! If They Had Metal Detectors at the Entrances of the Big Hotels - they would go off Frequently - However something must be Done to Ensure public safety

And You BET Mandalay Bay Will Have Multiple Lawsuits.

Have they cancelled New Years in Times Square yet?

Cousin is safe. Her friend shot. In hospital, but not critical. Waiting for more info.

heard the same.

so incredibly sad.

sorry to hear Mylar

MSG Man and his family are safe. I'm glad your cousin is safe, Mylar, and hope the best for her friend.

Yes, so incredibly sad. So many people affected, not only the dead, but the wounded, everyone involved's families, and us. Every time this sort of thing happens, and now it's on this scale, our hearts hurt. It's not just here, it has happened in other places.

Guns can kill when they're in the hands of sick, confused, crazy angry people. If they didn't have guns the scale of slaughter would be so much smaller. So sad.

So sad that this is just part of American culture now.

Worst concert ever.  Worse than TFB at Lockn.

Murphy: Congress needs to 'get off its ass' and take action on gun violence

Nowhere but America do horrific large-scale mass shootings happen with this degree of regularity. Last night's massacre may go down as the deadliest in our nation's history, but already this year there have been more mass shootings than days in the year," Murphy said in a statement.

"This must stop. It is positively infuriating that my colleagues in Congress are so afraid of the gun industry that they pretend there aren't public policy responses to this epidemic. There are, and the thoughts and prayers of politicians are cruelly hollow if they are paired with continued legislative indifference."

"It's time for Congress to get off its ass and do something," Murphy said

David Frum saying something intelligent? gotta process that for a while.

seems like it needs to hit home before some people wake the fuck up:

Caleb Keeter, the guitarist for the Josh Abbott Band, who performed Sunday at the Route 91 festival in Las Vegas, wrote that the tragedy had already changed his mind on the need for gun control.

"I've been a proponent of the 2nd amendment my entire life. Until the events of last night," he said. "I cannot express how wrong I was."

Keeter wrote that the band and crew felt utterly powerless and terrified during the shooting, and that crew members who had concealed-carry permits couldn't use them for fear of being mistaken for the shooter.

"Writing my parents and the love of my life a goodbye last night and a living will because I felt I wasn't going to live through the night was enough for me to realize that this is completely and totally out of hand," he said.

The band made an official statement on the shooting as well. "Everyone in our band and crew are safe. I (Josh) had just left and was in the Mandalay Bay on the 20th floor with my fiancé during the shooting just a few floors away. The band & crew were on the concert grounds and saw people get shot. Some of my crew members were hit with shrapnel, but not injured. We are deeply disturbed by this horrific act of violence and send our thoughts and prayers to the victims and their families. It was a long awful night but we are blessed to be alive and healthy. Hug your loved ones tight."..

http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/la-et-entertainment-news-updates-jo...

>In response to the Las Vegas shooting that left more than 50 dead and hundreds wounded, Coalition to Stop Gun Violence Executive Director Josh Horwitz issued the following statement:

“Days like today are always devastating for our organization. We send our deepest condolences to those affected by the horrific tragedy in Las Vegas.

“Days like today are also deeply frustrating. We are outraged that in just over a year, the deadliest mass shooting in American history has been eclipsed by another, then another. These tragedies continue to escalate because dangerous people have easy access to a limitless supply of high-powered weaponry.

“The United States of America is the only industrialized country where these massacres continue to happen. Gun deaths have become a part of our national identity — they are a daily occurrence. When gun violence happens in neighborhoods across the country, we mourn and move on. When a gunman ambushes legislators at a Congressional baseball practice, we mourn and move on. When hundreds are shot at an outdoor concert, we are angry and outraged and call for change. We mourn. But this time, we cannot move on. We must take action.

“This is not normal. The shooting in Las Vegas is a tragedy — a uniquely American one. There are commonsense policies that can prevent these deaths. We know what they are. Now we need legislators on both sides of the aisle to fight for them.”

Terrible that someone would shoot at people like that. RIP to the victims.

cwshooter.jpgSorry if it's too soon to make this observation: Just look at all that garbage. Whoa.

So, are they gonna try for an assault weapon ban again? I'm pretty skeptical.

whats up with that dude's facebook video showing what looks like automatic gunfire coming from the middle of MB, about 15 floors up, nowhere near the 32nd corner shot out windows.

not even sure it is same side of building.

I saw that too, Hollis.

https://youtu.be/gywc58Bxxc8

Video of gunfire flashes coming not from 32nd floor where the broken windows are.

I expect this gets explained away as a strobe light in a room or something.

did the shooter on the 15th floor have bullets that go through glass without breaking it?

(those are the curtains blowing out of the windows on the 32nd floor where the shooter was reportedly shooting)

Ive seen commercial glass panes get replaced in minutes.

I would love to see security video of his 64 year old guy getting 10 long guns and probably 2000 rounds of ammunition up to the 32nd floor.

Biggest shooting massacre in modern american history in the front yard of a black pyramid.

to see security video of  It <<< It has to be there ( though mb might cover it up? due to What Happened? )  Every Enter Every Exit . apparently 100s of Cameras Are there.

Yes, the country now needs  to come together for TAX cuts for the billionaires and corporations and pass some legislation to eliminate national parks/monuments (open them to drilling) and throw in billions in subsidies to the coal and nuclear plants. on npr, a LV security expert stated that luggage at the desk during check-in can and will be checked, if deemed necessary. However, at almost all casinos, for the purpose of convenience, you can go to your car in the parking garage and go straight to your room from the elevator(s) that are on the garage level. >>>>Shooter's daddy was a piss poor bank robber POS

Actually, he was on the FBI's Most Wanted List for ages.  They finally caught up with him in Springfield, Oregon living under the assumed name "Bingo Bruce" and running the state's first licensed bingo hall:

http://registerguard.com/rg/news/local/36016760-75/las-vegas-gunmans-fat...

The FBI’s wanted poster said Paddock had been convicted of bank robbery, automobile larceny, and the “confidence game.” He had been diagnosed as “psychopathic” and “reportedly” had “suicidal tendencies,” the poster read.

But no mental illness in the family...WRONG!

Some observations on the photo in Dise's 5:39 post:

1) The dude on the left with the black shirt and black cowboy hat looks like he's cool as a cucumber, resting against the fence sipping on his drink (my money is on a Jack & Coke). He either sees this type of stuff every day or is three sheets to the wind.

2) The chick climbing over the fence has her cell phone in her hand.  Sweet Jesus, lady, shots are being fired your way and people are dropping all around you.  You are climbing over a security fence to get the fuck out of Dodge.  Put the damn cellphone away!

3) The guy on the right showing his heinous asscrack.  Perhaps the day's most disturbing image.

>>>   Ive seen commercial glass panes get replaced in minutes.

yes, they just drove up to the Mandalay with the special Gold reflective windows.

While Vegas was on lockdown and 50,000 people - including about 10,000 cellphone cameras - were staring at the hotel.

p.s. my wife and I realized we probably stayed in that room to see Phish in 2002...if it is the one that looks down the strip.

it must have been the room that looks down the strip (e.g., you look right down at the Luxor (pyramid) , here's the Mandalay from the concert venue, if he was in the same room, it has a massive living room that looks down the strip, with two master suites on either side...the shooters room would be on the right side of the Mandalay in this pic, about 4 stories from the top:

44F3C86900000578-4939872-Police_run_to_cover_at_the_scene_of_a_shooting_near_the_Mandalay-a-4_1506934397653.jpg

Hopefully they also got the shooter on the 15th floor by now too. If not maybe we should let the LVPD know about it.

This dude no doubt stayed in this room before premeditating  these murders.

Fox news anchor suggesting this murderer turned Muslim two weeks ago and could be affiliated with ISIS.

Why does Fox give a shit?

If he's not a terrorist, he's just crazy and we don't need to stop Americans from owning Machine guns.

If he is a terrorist......he's just evil and we don't need to stop terrorist Americans...from.....owning.......machine......guns.....?

I love you HL73.

Yep, no conspiracy theory to see here. Just questions. Like, is Elvis really dead?

Elvis performed the wedding ceremony for my friends before the '95 GD shows. He may have died a few time since then, though.

I like what some of you have said. Obviously, if a man uses a massive arsenal to shoot up a concert in Las Vegas, we clearly need stricter controls on gambling and luggage limitations in hotels.

He was there for three days (I have also read 5).  No one is going to look twice if he comes in a few times a day with a suitcase, those hotels have tons of entrances  Have any of you had a hotel look in your bags anyway?

In other news, on Sunday I dropped by a black church on my way back from the farmer's market and they were very nice but adamant about taking my backpack.

have they identified the lady from the news reports, who found her way to the front row and was telling people they were going to "die tonight" and was then taken out by security.

I haven't heard it mentioned outside of the interview with that one girl that saw her get booted.

Here's a clip taken by a taxi driver near Mandalay Bay.

It kinda sounds like two distinct guns going off. One near and one far.

(you can get a pretty good sense of it in the first 1:30)

Agent 73 on the case, again.

and no shit Sherlock, I'm on your case for being a conspiracy nut

>> It kinda sounds like two distinct guns going off. One near and one far. <<

Well, he was using two different windows, and one was around a corner.

They have shown the two different windows....what you got? A light flahing in a window that wasn't broken?

It troubles me to live in a land where so many of the 1-5% of all people with some degree of mental illness (including the paranoid/schizoid conspiracy nutters) have such easy access to guns.  More thoughtful gun policy will help, more funding on mental health care will help, improved security measures may help, but the laws of mathematics and demographics tell us that there will always be these types of occurences.  We're still safer going to large events than driving our cars on the freeways. Common sense tells us we should take whatever measures we can to minimize harm.  We do this with driving by minimizing speed.  It is high time we minimize risk factors by examining why we allow automatic assault weapons to be bought and sold, and why we allow the mentally ill to wander our streets untreated.  Sure, it will raise taxes, but we either pay now, or we will surely be paying later.

They keep deliberately wording it as the "Worst Mass Shooting in MODERN History"

Two thoughts:

What's the definition of modern?

What shooting is considered worse?

^I was thinking the same thing this morning, Jay.

I suppose that it's google-able.

We're probably talking about massacres in our dark past....

>>>>They keep deliberately wording it as the "Worst Mass Shooting in MODERN History"

Yeah, I keep hearing that too.  I think its just being PC because they don't want to downplay the various massacres of Indians, striking workers, etc. that have marred American history:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_massacres_in_the_United_States

However, most of those early massacres were organized events and involved multiple perpetrators, including military personnel, vigilante mobs, and strike busters.  That sort of civil disorder and violence can be readily distinguished from mass shootings, which often involve a single individual (or duo), are generally unrelated to broader political events, and is a relatively modern phenomena.

Hiroshima/Nagasaki

The Wounded Knee Massacre is the one they are avoiding talking about with the "modern" qualifier, but I get Ken's distinction of this scenario being a pretty uniquely "modern" development.

300 dead with 200 of the dead being women and children.

Well obviously they know he was an asshole.

That is a weird photo.

I'll be in Vegas next weekend for Dylan, which will be great. (GA ticket, $50.)

Vegas shooter wired $100,000 to the Philippines

From CNN's Jessica Schneider

A law enforcement official confirms that Stephen Paddock wired $100,000 to the Philippines. However, officials aren’t yet able to see when he sent the money. They also don’t know the recipient. The FBI is working with authorities in the Philippines to determine additional details.

Also, the official reiterated there are still no ties that they’ve seen to international terrorism.

NBC first reported the $100,000 transfer.

http://www.cnn.com/2017/10/02/us/las-vegas-shooting-live?lf-content=2173...

>>>>That is a weird photo.

Whole thing is weird.  At first, I assumed he was a problem gambler that lost everything and was taking it out on the city that ruined him.  But now they are saying he still had plenty of money and was actually sending big cash payments overseas in the weeks leading up to this.   He also doesn't sound like your typically sociopath outsider fringe of society losers that are often associated with these types of mass shootings.

Are these gun tragedies the new norm?

I used a .22 in the Scouts for target practice and that was enough for me.

I'm all for the 2nd Amendment, but too many innocents deserve the right to live.

ALGONQUIN PROVINCIAL PARK, ON—Two North American grey wolves held a press conference today to discuss the media's incessant use of the phrase "lone wolf" when describing white perpetrators of mass shooting.

"It's difficult for us to be here together but this is important," Wolf A began, immediately lunging at Wolf B's throat, pinning him to the ground.

Avoiding eye contact, Wolf B continued, "Being forced to live away from my pack is, like, hard enough. I really don't need bad publicity on top of it. Also, saying we're the same as terrorists is just bad facts."

"It's inaccurate," Wolf A added. "We can't say definitively that young, white men are more likely than others to carry out mass murder, but multiple studies, as well as reality, have shown that white men do commit mass shootings at a disproportionate rate relative to the rest of the population."

Wolf A paused briefly to lick his balls. "Frankly, it's insulting to wolves to keep calling these shooters —who are obviously part of a larger human problem — 'lone wolves'".

"Furthermore, unlike lone wolves, these shooters are deeply ingrained in your society. They're absorbing the messages in your media, participating in online forums, and forming communities."

We're animals, but we're not monsters.- Lone wolf

"Must be nice," Wolf B said quietly. "I'm so lonely."

"This is obviously a massive, widespread crisis of masculinity and racism. We realize wolves have superior vision, but seriously, you guys can't see that?"

"Sure, we prey on the weak and feeble, but the way we kill is useful!" Wolf A said as he bared his teeth. "The herd that remains is stronger and healthier. Your so-called lone wolves slaughter innocent people for no reason. We're animals, but we're not monsters."

"There is literally a gun store in Pennsylvania called Lone Wolf!" Wolf A barked. "That's messed up."

"Oh hey, and like, if I could say one more thing?" Wolf B asked. "The Wolf of Wall Street is also pretty offensive. We're nothing like that."

Wolf A then bit Wolf B on the shoulder, and both wolves urinated on the microphone before sprinting into the woods in opposite directions.

the photos from inside the hotel room were leaked.

news of note over the last 24-36 hours

hotel resident from Australia in room directly next door says he ran out of hotel when he heard gunfire start, that security guard in hallway was shot(confirmed from LVPD scanner i listened to this morning) and that will he hide in bushes with others they thought there were more than one shooter(australian news source)

Around the 19th minute of the scanner audio i just finished, the team that is waiting on the 32nd floor comments on a 2nd shooter below, and to start dedicated channels.

the video of the high school teacher talking about her experience is the second instance of a person commenting on spent shell casings in around the ground of the VIP section bleachers. from PD accounts, police were not firing back from inside the venue.

i'm still interested in who this latino female and male POI are who walked to the front of the venue and were telling people they were about to die.

also, Ammonium nitrate, Tannerite, & 1,600 rounds of ammunition found in gunman's vehicle at hotel

http://fox17.com/news/local/las-vegas-shooter-had-50-pounds-of-tannerite...

Loving the Sheriff though, his conference are continue to have things of note.

https://twitter.com/Breaking911/status/915747294108110848

lastly, im amazed at reading the how fast Australia acted in response to the 1996 masss shooting they had, and which forever changed their laws. Impressive. Doesnt feel like they were more worried about being on "teams" and protecting ideas.

not buying the videos of the second shooter deal on the 4th floor(doesnt add up), especially when you hear PD saying the same, though on the 29th floor.
PD saying they didnt shoot back from the ground.
PD saying this all feels larger than just Paddock in press conferences.
IS now twice saying he was radicalized.
so interesting

He may have targeted Lollapalooza Chicago in August.

http://www.tmz.com

I have read that there was a note, but not a suicide note (per Sheriff)

They think he planned to escape.  Not sure if that is just because there was more ammo in the car, or some other reason.  And seriously, how are you going to escape from the 32d floor?

I wouldn't put too much stock in what people say about one or two shooters in the confusion. Two windows, two locations for sound.  Or even "seeing" spent shell casings.  People think they see a lot of things that don't happen in the heat of an event like this. Brain plays tricks, creating false memories.  I am sure if they found shell casings cops would be actively looking for people in the crowd to come forward with what they saw.

Interested to know who was the woman he was with a few days earlier.

the note shows up in the room photos, but obviously you cannot see it.

saw that palooza thing. he also was booked and ready for another festival in LV that was just a few weeks prior i heard that cHance the rapper was headlining.

This may sound like a crazy conspiracy theory but I don't trust the government at all.

Why don't they know anything about him? Where did he get his millions? Gambling?

This guy hasn't worked a real job since 1985. Maybe he was some kind of ex black ops guy or retired mercenary type.

He definitely knew about weapons and planned this attack out. Just a thought.

<<<not buying the videos of the second shooter deal on the 4th floor(doesnt add up), especially when you hear PD saying the same, though on the 29th floor

Yeah, that seems to have been cleared up and was even still flashing in the background of subsequent daytime interviews.

The taxi driver video is pretty compelling audio evidence of more than one shooter. To me it doesnt sound like the difference of only 50ft in the two different reports clearly audible and echoes really dont account for the timing.

I still want to see video of him taking up every one of those suitcases at some point.  I'm not saying he couldnt have easily accomplished  it, but show me the vid that must exist.

Also, there is some interesting speculatuon on a clip from the field that some claim shows a shooter on the ground among the crowd, but its so quick and tough to make out whats really happening.

And what happened to his neck tat clearly visible in the closed eye photo ?  Pictures of his corpse dont show the 13 where it should be.   Was this a 64 year old man into temporary tattoos?

He could have escaped by walking up or down the stairs and taking the elevator from a different floor.  He has a glove on his left hand in the picture of his dead body that is circulating.  That might have kept gunpowder traces off his hands if the police were testing people coming out of the hotel.  Once past the lobby, he could have just walked away and vanished.  There is a chance that he had accomplices who did this and left him behind as a patsy.

Lacking any other motive coming forward, I'm wondering if someone was threatening him or his family in some way through blackmail. Otherwise, we 're looking at a person who just completely snapped, and those types of folks don't usually exhibit the precise planning this guy did.

i dont really think that is a 13 tattoo from teh one pic.

just old man crepey skin?

ive seen that floated.

maybe he sharpied his lucky roulette number on his neck?

gamblers are weird and superstitious.

What use would "getting away" do?

He registered the room under his name. All the guns were registered to him. He wanted his stamp on this, and seems to be smart enough to know that getting away from this scene only leads to quickly getting caught, or holing up for a while until found.

You're right Ned.  He left a trail pointing to himself.  So was he a patsy?  Was he radicalized?   If not, what was his motive?

Curious what his autopsy reveals.  Was he on any substances?  Did he have any terminal illnesses?

Never fear! Passive Aggressive Conspiracy Guy is here!

I'm here to passively accuse & ask the hard hitting questions; that I found on 4chan and redit.

(Dude are you looking at the same kind of tattoo that Podesta had??? wtf man??)

Good to see you too, Jonas.

(If you'll notice, I didnt bring up the subject at hand, but thanks for singling me out. I know you hang on my every word and it's flattering. You like to discount my thoughts , but seem to have to address most of them when it comes to this stuff. Pretty interesting, actually.)

You too brother.

First time on today and you performed as expected.

You do realize that 32 floors up with a festival pa on full volume that a broken window wouldn't be heard or felt by anyone? Especially when it's shot out & then followed by hundreds of shots, screams & death?

Ever been in Vegas??  He could have EASILY brought that to his room without question.

<<<Ever been in Vegas??  He could have EASILY brought that to his room without question

If you've been following along, I have no question it would have been very easy for him to bring that stuff up without a doubt. I just want to see the footage of him doing it.

There should be reams of footage.

>>>>and seems to be smart enough to know that getting away from this scene only leads to quickly getting caught, or holing up for a while until found.

Well, he is the son of "Bingo Bruce," a bank robber who was on the FBI's most wanted list for 10 years until they found him living under an assumed identity and running a bingo hall in Springfield, Oregon.

& they'll be released.  That's like saying 4 hours after the shooting 'the only picture of the shooter is with his eyes closed'.

And for the record it's that ambiguous/passive thing: he could have done it but I need to see it NOW.

For the record, I don't need it now and never said that,  but I do want to see it and we've had security camera footage from other incidents at this point in the past.

<<<That's like saying 4 hours after the shooting 'the only picture of the shooter is with his eyes

Can we say it now four days later with no further photos available?  Let me know the cutoff.

Damn. High school classmate, Heather Gullish Melton and her husband, Sonny were there

he tried to run and shield her and was killed

just googled her name and she is in every major news feed

fucking tragedy.

This was an absolutely horrifying tragedy. Unspeakable.

I have to say though, it's interesting that much of the conspiracies (none of which seem plausible...yet) are coming from the right, and the same people who have been saying that black people need to have more respect for the police are now the ones all but saying that the Las Vegas police are lying about the massacre.

still waiting on that security camera footage.

6 days and counting.

but we did get some footage of him from 2011 in another casino!

I'm sure the hallways all have CCTV cameras in place for liability issues. Yet, we still have no motive... incredible.

The fact we still have no motive is indeed incredible... Could you imagine if he just decided one day he was going to do this with no real reason other than he could? Thats truly horrifying, especially considering the ease of access any other person would have to the instruments used to do this.

Every Nickel From The Shooter SHOULD BE SEIZED NOW !  To Pay For All The Funerals And Every Gun he had should be Melted Down !

Not One Victim Who Died Should Have To Set Up A Go Fund Me Account ! Let The Shooters Assests And The Mandalay Bay PAY THE BILLS !

I'm curious, PLF. While I can see seizing assets from the shooter's estate, I'm not sure what legal responsibility Mandalay Bay actually has.

I Hear Ya Ski about the Mandalay bay being Liable - But Maybe Out Of The Kindness Of Their Hearts Just Helping Out

On a total side note: a photographer buddy who is based in Las Vegas let me know about a relief effort that is so Las Vegas...

The local strip clubs are sending vans with gifts and strippers to the victims.

Only in Las Vegas, folks.

I Am Sure Many Of The Familes Are Getting Private Donations From A Grieving Country....

Two weeks out and the story is murkier by the day.

Jesus Campos, the "hero" security guard that's not in the security guard database, cancelled interviews last week at the last minute and is currently not available for comment.

I think we are up to three conflicting timelines now.

How long until we can expect even a still of Paddock in Mandalay Bay?

I know, we"ve all moved on to the fires and Weinstein.

yes, Yes, YES!!

The less we hear, the more we can assume (right?)

no, we are hearing plenty, but its not adding up to the story they are selling.

Yet again...more people covering their collective asses in order to avoid being sued.

I see no reason for either Mandalay Bay and/or LVMPD to not disclose a second shooter, assistance to the shooter, or whatever.

<<<I see no reason for either Mandalay Bay and/or LVMPD to not disclose

oh well, then.

case closed.

LOL...OK.

Please share your theory(s).

"I don't have any answers, just a lot of questions...."

I DONT LIKE OR UNDERSTAND THE EXPLANATIONS THAT I AM HEARING SO I AM GOING TO MAKE UP MY OWN SHIT

I was there this weekend to see Dylan. It was a strong show. Metal detectors at the door to the venue and

at least one bomb-sniffing dog.

    Our hotel was near the outdoor venue where the shooting happened. They still have that place on total lockdown;

there are cops guarding each entrance 24/7, at least 5 or 6 different entrances. It was a pretty intense vibe.

Very sad to see the iconic "Welcome to Las Vegas" sign with all the crosses behind it. Tons of flowers, flags, etc.

You can see where they put gold painted plywood over the broken windows at Mandalay Bay.

I watched and listened to a handful of the early Utube videos & audios of the incident.  Couple things stood out right away;

-Several eyewitnesses describing multiple gunpersons,  no doubts at all
-Recording of LVPD scanner feed describing multiple gunpersons all up & down the strip and at several different floors of <Mandalay>
-Audio on people's fone videos clearly shows single-fire shots mixed with automatic fire
-There was one home-video showing a guy in the crowd (concert field) firing a weapon as people were running

So the official narrative,  malleable as it is,  says  "The lone killer is dead, tourists are safe now".  If they said  "There was a whole bunch of people shooting up the town and especially the concert,  but they all got away except one"  that isn't too good for tourism.

We'll probably never hear anything close to the real story.

Been so long since I've visited LV,  but was there not a small -> medium sized concert venue in the Mandalay ??  Saw some moe. shows over the years post-Phish and I think some were in there.

Bump

Nice family.

Let’s raise some funds for DS to do some further investigating

>>>We’ll probably never hear anything close to the real story.

It was George Soros, that’s why.

I wonder if the cat was some kind of government hit man gone awry. Seems to have covered a lot of bases.
