It's been a bit since that last TXR website meltdown (I think), I guess we were due.

Seriously though....if anyone from TXR is reading this, please understand the frustration this causes.  It really feels like you don't care about us despite how much we care about you.

^^^^^I do not understand your post.

Pretty sure this event is about caring for victims of the Hurricane. Really, it's not about YOU.

(the ticket link isn't working, first world problems that makes Push feel sad and neglected)

need (would like) 2 please

thx

txr

Sorry you don't understand Surfdead.  Apparently you dind't attempt to buy any tickets today?

I agree NANCY, it's about the victims not me....not sure how that's relevant to my point which is....

The TXR ticketing site on more than one occasion completely melts down.  Some of us (like me) spent their entire lunch hour and part of their working afternoon wrestling with the site. (Silly me, I know)  TXR needs to be aware how frustrating this problem is (even if it's a first world problem) and how it makes their customers feel (not valued)

With that said, based on the volume of negative Facebook comments they should be well aware by now and after almost three hours the site is back up.....but we've seen these episodes in the past and the issue has yet to be corrected.

I appreciate you both providing a bit of perspective - thanks, I guess that was needed  I don't appreciate your tone though....however I realize with written word it's often difficult to get perceptions right.  I'll give you both the benefit of the doubt.   Back to lurking.

Same day as HSB - no easy way North from SF that day.

When thousands of people all log onto a small ticketing site at exactly the same time for exactly the same event, an event that is offering a small number of tickets, the site is going to have problems.

There is nothing new about this, and naturally neither is the "THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!!! WHY DON'T THEY DO SOMETHING TO MAKE IT WORK FOR ALL OF US (or at least me)!!!??!!!" response.

There isn't anything they can do to "correct" this except use one of the mega ticketing systems like Tickmaster that can handle large hits at the same time, but then we'd hear all of THAT tired "TicketBASTARD" moaning & groaning about fees (fees which help support the mega systems that would work in these cases) and even then most people would still get shut out because while the TxR park is a larger venue than the Grate Room it's still a very small venue.

In other words, this isn't anyone's fault and it's not a personal affront, it's just the reality of a small event at a small venue that is desired by MANY people simultaneously. TxR is a very small venue that uses a small ticketing system that works fine for the vast majority of their events, and there just isn't a realistic solution to these individual situations.

None of that should make anyone feel any better, but constantly looking to place blame where there really is no blame gets tired as well.

I appreciate your tone ^

Lance - that's a well reasoned thoughtful response and appreciated.  However not completely fact based.....

... but I'm not interested in getting into an argument with  PZ all-star so will leave it at that and the hope TXR doesn't rationalize away any learnings that should have occurred today.

Anyone happen to know the logistics of running a site like that? Is it a team of people offsite or a person standing outside the gm's office? Do they just unplug and plug back back in? Soft reboot?

Thanks for letting us know.  Looks like I just barely missed it.  (Tickets in Carts just went to Sold Out).

Have fun, people.

So who's the "very special guest"?

Hunter, Jorma, Nelson, Grisman?

looks like the A's organization is involved. Cool

So who's the "very special guest"?

A's team? because i't October, they'll be available...

My guess is Lukas Nelson

JK

At least one person who went to TXR yesterday afternoon got tickets at the counter.

A bunch of regulars missed the internet onsale and were miffed.

Here's wishing that everyone who wants them gets tickets. (I know, they won't.)

>Looks like the A's organization is involved. Cool

seeing that there's a silent  auction  and raffle it would seem  that the A's are listed along with other donors on that poster..so unless they're auctioning off the players, I doubt they will be in attendance ;)
