Shapiro still thinks Lock'n is a go

Forums:

I got an email from Lock'n today. Unbelievably irresponsible and I can't imagine who would be willing to play this thing and risk their fans health let alone there own.......

I've been wondering about this. Crazy. I don't see how it can work. Shappy is dreamin.

Yoga moms in the park here won't wear masks. How will it work out when the drugs kick in?

Can't stop the rock (until the Commonwealth of Virginia or local health officials shut it down):

Lineup TBA.

He is shameful huckster POS.

Shappy is dreamin<<<

I saw a post on ratdog.org and thought it was a joke.

In light of the pandemic raging, this is in a whole new league of irresponsibility ... even for Shappy.

People who jump from the balcony and even the Altamont's are always going to be cards in the deck with large scale gatherings for concerts, but why role the dice with the presence of a known highly contagious deadly virus while the nation is in the midst of a struggle - both physically and politically - to contain the outbreak?

I can only hope there's nobody on the lineup I like, since I will NEVER pay a single dollar to ever see them again (let alone handing over even a penny to ever reach Shappy's pocket).

Shappy's gonna shap.

He's out-shapped himself this time.

It puts the Fare The Well ticket switcheroo into the minor leagues.

Can I get a quick re-fresher on that? Not that I considered going to those- just curious.

I'll probably botch the story & hope someone can correct me if I'm wrong and provide the full story.   I believe there was a particular pricing tier that changed after the initial mail order or something to do with a change in protocol.  In the end, I believe Shappy tried to "make amends", but there was a period of time where some were "left hanging".   Again, correct away.

Get a brick with a ticket?

As always it's easy to criticize (especially when you don't know or can't explain what it is you're criticizing) and at this point in time, no matter how stringent and well-controlled the safety protocols might be it seems wishful thinking at best to plan a big show two months from now, but I'd say he's probably just trying to keep his company alive and be able to pay his employees for a while, and hope for a miracle.

Naturally if things aren't discernibly better in two months he can always pull the plug on the show, but as always I'll say to those crying from the cheap seats, to be successful at what Shappy does is extremely difficult in the best of times, and these days it's virtually impossible.

Personally I wouldn't go near a thing like this nowadays, I didn't even consider going to the two little TxR dinner & shows that happened a few weeks ago (as I recall something that didn't receive much if any criticism around here) and in two months going forward with a show like this could end up being very irresponsible, but I'm guessing that right now Shappy is mostly just trying to keep his boat afloat in the middle of a hurricane.

would never go even if it was non-covid reality. i really just feel like the whole jamband and grateful dead themed sets at festivals  have run their course. love to see young kids get high and enjoy themselves, though. we all need to be taking a lot more acid and dancing to our favorite music.

Wouldn't send any promoter a dime right now - many are likely going to declare bankruptcy and money will not be refunded. Don't be a sucker..

Will it be necessary to sign a "Tulsa waiver" to gain entry?

What if Shappy is playing a game of "chicken" with insurance ... waiting to get shut down by the local authorities?

Is Shappy working with the Germans?
