Thursday, 8/3 vs. OAK 7:15 p.m.

The Giants invite you to join them in celebrating one of the most legendary and coveted groups associated with the San Francisco music scene, The Grateful Dead! We are calling on all Dead Heads to come out and celebrate the rich legacy of a group that has been together for over 50 years! 2017 is particulary special, as it also serves as the 50th anniversary of "The Summer of Love", which featured the Dead and originated in San Francisco. On this evening, Special Event ticket package includes a ticket to the Thursday evening game versus the team across the Bay, the Oakland A's, as well as a limited Giants-themed Dancing Bear bobblehead, commemorating the 50th anniversary of that summer in 1967 - "The Summer of Love"! Members of the original band, as well as members of the Garcia family are scheduled to be in attendance and participating in special pre-game components taking place on-field, so make sure to arrive early! Proceeds from every special event ticket sold will be donated to various non-profits near and dear to the band's heart.

Cheap seats (no extras included)... $51.00 View Box Left Field

That's a lot of coin for a ballgame! An expensive evening of entertainment for sure.

I loved going to this event when it first came around, its more a gimmick to sell the VIP & Merch now. Not enough GD music during the game and it eventually disintegrates into a Journey sing along, other classic rock songs, meh...

True, but if you are a Giants fan(or this yr an A's fan), It is a good night to go to a game.

The Triples Alley event is pricey but fun. Having a few beers out on the warning track during batting practice while Moonalice is playing is pretty cool.  Going to pass this year but have enjoyed it.

We're going to Long Beach State night at Dodger Stadium. Go Dodgers!

F a 3-digit baseball ticket price.

^no shit

Slacker, were you even born yet in 1988?

I was about to be reborn. I had quit baseball, was beating my dad at Tennis and about to quit basketball.

Been a skater on the pots ever since.

It's odd that at least at this early point the only tickets available for "the event package" are just the one big price.

All the other previous times they've done this, and for all the other event nights they have, which is just about every weeknight game, there are event tickets available at all normal price ranges. I'm surprised it isn't set up that way again, as it's a fund-raiser. It is only March so maybe the regular price ranges in various sections will come up later, without access to whatever pre-game hoo-ha goes on.

Whatever, it's a fun game whether you buy the ticket for the junk they're giving that year or not. The weeknight games are my favorites anyway so I go to this one every year. It's just another game except a band with Sless, Molo & Sears sets up on the first base dugout before the game and plays a few Dead songs, and there are lots of friends at that particular game.

Last year was a blast. It was cool hearing Scarlet Begonias echoing in the streets as I walked across the drawbridge heading into the stadium, and a bunch of friends came by my normal spot to say hello throughout the game.

And Bumgarner hit a home run that night too, which is always nice.

It's no big whoop, it's just a fun night at the ballpark.

GO TO THE GAME!!!

And...

GO GIANTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Plenty of East Bay interlopers will be on hand for that game too.

GDTSTOO still exists?  I had no idea . . .
