What a bummer! Bet for those that stay the night it's going to be a sweet party though. Gotta do all the drugs you were saving for the rest of the weekend...
The Dead 6/15/2003 Bonnaroo Music Festival, Manchester, TN
I: Touch of Grey > Jam > Fire on the Mountain > Sugaree > Friend of the Devil@ > Alabama Getaway > Viola Lee Blues
II: Box of Rain > Black Muddy River (Instrumental) > Sugar Magnolia > Unbroken Chain > Space > Drums > Dark Star > China Doll > Dark Star > St. Stephen > William Tell Bridge > The Eleven > I Know You Rider E: Attics of My Life
So the beginning of that Set II back in 2003 was the reverse of the GD's last show, 7/9/95. Making a statement, kinda. That 2003 band with Jimmy Herring, Joan, and Headband was pretty good, I preferred it to the Warren-lead band from 2004 (and the whole vibe shifted by 2004). So those were good memories, though I did not catch the Bonnaroo show. Stll never been to Bonnaroo, and since the mega festival acts of today have kind of moved beyond my musical tastes for the most part, I probably never will. Le sigh.
that poster is a HELL of a lineup. it feels like you'd pretty much never get a festival lineup that hard hitting these days. when you compare bonaroo's current lineups to the one on that poster, it does seem to appear that the festival has been GUTTED
