Murray sat in with the Dead a few times in 1993

Have heard his version of The Eleven a few times on the local jazz station wbgo.org. Good stuff

You're confusing Dave Murray with Dave McMurray.

Thanks Burnz.... not too familiar with David's music or name. Just enjoyed the version of The Eleven

A solid local Bay Area player (i.e. dishwasher) who has played with Phil and others often. He's good.

I was going to get the cd but it is sold out.  Also the digital download is $17.98, the cd is $11.98.

Since when do the digital downloads cost more than a CD?  Not getting it.

Strangely enough, David Murray also put out a dead cover album, according to that jambase article, but that was back in '96.

The McMurray album may be worth a listen!

I saw David Murray play the Dead cover album at the Fillmore. Good show. Security was crazy uptight that night for the Fillmore. Don't know what they were expecting. The album is worth a listen. China Doll was my favorite.

Has anyone heard Grateful Jazz by Jazz is Dead?
