Sandinista!

For the very first time ever,
When they had a revolution in Nicaragua,
There was no interference from America
Human rights in America

Well the people fought the leader,
And up he flew...
With no Washington bullets what else could he do?

'N' if you can find a Afghan rebel
That the Moscow bullets missed
Ask him what he thinks of voting Communist...
...Ask the Dalai Lama in the hills of Tibet,
How many monks did the Chinese get?
In a war-torn swamp stop any mercenary,
'N' check the British bullets in his armory
Que?
Sandinista!

Is Rage Against the Machine still around.  Those dudes could play a riot.

Bucky congratulated his own post?

I did, sometimes you need to get the ball rolling,

And here is Bruce Cockburn's love letter to Daniel Ortega, "Nicaragua," on 5/26/86:

Crazy times. CIA, civil wars, and shipping powders back and forth . . .

That whole shit show implicated a lot of shady fuckers:

Thanks for the suggestion, I have had this one on this evening. I like this record. What a great band.

It’s crazy how they went from songs like “White Riot” to ones like “Broadway” in four short years.

It was at the time, and now it is just the Clash. I keep them in the rotation. Good stuff.
