Part of me wants to believe those captions aren't real, but the other part makes me think they are.

Heard some crazy stories about conscription in Russia, including how the cops hauled some anti-war protesters down to the draft office and conscripted them right into the army.  Can't imagine how forcibly conscripted anti-war activists would make for an effective fighting force.

I found it interesting in reading the historical fiction book Fall of Giants (Follett) about how Russia seems to have a long history of brutal tactics of involving forced conscription and compliance on the battlefield.  I'm sure this sort of thing has been going on for ages, but I think it's a different mindset than we're used to in the US.
