What could go wrong, strong line up, but I think I am too old for this one

Hey, they've got the Hu and the Ded. What's not to like? smiley

That's a lotta power chords and angst. Are Jane's Addiction still any good?

Moodring is on the bill, I had one.

...strong line-up?

Don't recognize many of the supporting acts, but the list of headliners is guaranteed to make this a middle-aged sausage fest.  They could have added Def Leppard and Poison to help draw more middle-aged rocker chicks to the fest.

Wow, a whole weekend and not one band I would see for free.

Over the years I've seen most of the higher listed groups, I just saw Korn in August - as meh as always - but other than Foo Fighters & Jane's there is nothing I'd be at all interested in seeing, and especially these days there are quite a few of those groups I'd run away from as fast as possible.

I would say they're almost certainly still good, at their best they were one of the greatest rock bands I've ever seen, by my issues the past couple of times I saw them is they played short sets, didn't  play enough of their best songs, filling in much of their sets with newer material that just doesn't compare, and not surprisingly they couldn't really re-capture the flaming mad intensity they had in their short prime.

But Perkins is fucking great, Navarro can still shred, Perry is one of the most compelling rock frontmen I've ever seen and any of their best songs are always worth hearing live, so I'm sure they're still entertaining and I'd likely see them if they come around my area.

As for the Foo Fighters, they're a bit too slick for me, but they're really good at what they do and can put on a very good rock show, and are probably the only band on that bill that's still in their working prime. I wouldn't pay to see them unless a particular friend who's a big fan wanted to go, but I'd see them for free most any time.

But this show? No chance of a spot taken, but I hope it works out well for those who go. And hopefully they'll buy their favorite bands XXXL shirts that fit them now to replace the M shirts they bought 30 years ago and show up wearing.

4 days with that crowd ? Not even when I was young, but that last night sounds like a lotta fun. JA has always been a fucking blast to see.

Next came on Neil Young and people left in droves after the Foo. Got right up front.

While the chances are excellent that there will be a strong sausage showing of all ages, one of the things that I have found at shows with a heavier metal feel to them is that there is a much stronger showing of women than any jam band show I've attended by a factor of at least 2X.

I saw this lineup last night and it is one of the stronger festivals I've seen recently. If you don't like the bands and/or music, it isn't for you. If you do, this one looks like a lotta bang for buck.

As for Jane's Addiction being any good, I've never seen a show by them that I didn't think was top notch. Some have been better than others, for sure. The one thing that you can take to the bank is that they always step up big at a festival. Perry is a consummate showman and the bigger the crowd, the bigger the show.

Janes Addiction is one of the loudest shows I have seen, and they are a great band live. Kiss was huge when I got to high school but I was never into them, I liked Zepplin, Rush, etc. kinda have an urge just to go see them once, kinda like phish, would not mind seeing that light show one time, if I could only filter out the singing parts. Jerry Cantrell is worth seeing. Foo Fighters are great at what they do and glad there is still a few rock and roll bands like them out there.
