Terry Jomes was both a brilliant comedian and Chaucerian scholar. He had suffered from the debilitating effects of Alzheimer's disease for the last five years, and could no longer speak or recognize his old friends. This is sad, if not entirely unexpected news. With the recent death of "seventh Python" Neil Innes, a tough start to 2020 for the group.
So sad, but so glad he was around to do what he did.
Monty Python helped me get into the Grateful Dead, as I was a HUGE fan of the TV show and loved the bizarre, free-form ways the skits would blend/jump/flow/skip from one thing to another (and now for something completely different) and that's one of the things I clicked on and compared to when first listening to the GD, "Oh, they're sort of like Python."
Funniest and most socially brilliant group of comics in my lifetime. We busted many a rib back in the day dosing over these guys. Replays still have me rolling. Thanks Terry RIP.
