The matriarch of a talented family.  Sounds like she took her own life.  Condolences to her daughters and the family.

Sad news. The Judds were a really good group. My mom loved them and I took her to see them at their height, a sold out Shoreline show with some newbie called Garth Brooks opening.

I vaguely recall that she was always a bit of a trip; with a comeback looming maybe she couldn't take the pressure.

On it goes.

RIP!

RIP

I always thought momma Judd was hot.

I came to appreciate the Judd's music, thanks to an old girlfriend from Montana who knew I liked traditional country music, and thought I might find them to my liking.  They were making Pop music, but it definitely had trad underpinnings, and I didn't dislike it.

The Judd sisters are both 7 degrees of the Grateful Dead.   Wynonna has sat in with Bob Weir and the Wolf Brothers a couple of times in the last year.  Ashley famously hit it off with Jerry Garcia on the set of the movie Smoke when the Jerry Garcia Band supplied a couple of cover songs for the film soundtrack, the only studio recordings of the JGB after 1981's Run For The Roses.

Tonight, Naomi and Wynonna, as The Judds, will be inducted into the Country Music Hall Of Fame.   In the light of Naomi's tragic death, the presentation will be particularly poignant.

May the good lord shine on Naomi's spirit and on the Judd family.

Soooooooo fucking sad.

Sooooooo thankful I'm not wired that way, to let feeling bad over anything consume me to that degree.

Hope no zoners ever approach that relm either,, that's why we're fuckin here, to keep one another positively amused.

Clearly the woman didn't listen to enough blues music,, that shit cures depression.

Music sweet music, I wish I could caress and kiss

Sometimes it's not the wiring, but the brain chemistry. Obviously hard to overcome. She struggled for years. And had the resources and knowledge. And still......

Ashley famously hit it off with Jerry Garcia on the set of the movie Smoke>>>

Video of Smoke Gets in Your Eyes from the movie was upgrade 2 months ago by Christopher Hazard.

Jerome Kerns, who Garcia was named after, is one of the co-writers.
