RIP Mick Rock

As far as I'm concerned, he was one of the best rock photographers of all time. His images of David Bowie, Queen, Lour Reed, The Ramones and many more define classic. I also admire that he never wanted to rest on his laurels and was always injecting himself into the upcoming scenes and performers. He is going to be missed.

I recently became familiar with David Michael Kennedy's body of work.

There's a youtube worth checking out of one of his lectures where he shares funny stories with Dylan, Blondie etc.....

Very saddened to hear of the passing of legendary Photographer Mick Rock. Condolences to his loved ones and fans,.

I had the opportunity to Interview Mick some years ago, and he was gracious and articulate. If you have not seen his website, it is highly recommended for you to check out:

While it is sad news, I have a humorous tale to tell relating to Mick, that actually points up how cool and gracious he was as a person,.

Back when I was just kicking off my Radio DJ work n earnest,. one day I featured a Live David Bowie concert. I decided to have a little fun and blow some smoke and mirrors over the Air,. and say that David Bowie would be joining me for an exclusive Interview later in the Broadcast. A complete fabrication. Well at least one of my listeners bought it hook, line & sinker. That was my cousin, Jane. She immediately called me in the Studio and informed me that she was friendly with Mick Rock, one of Bowie's primary photographers. He had a new book coming out with at least 35 full page color and B & W plates of David,. Of course, I was interested and followed up with an Interview with Mick at, and he was gracious and kind enough to do double duty at my other Radio affiliation at the time, WBAI. Of course before all this , I had to fess up to Jane that the Bowie ruse was complete bullshit! Oops!
