That sucks.   His radio show was a trip.   Liked the set break thing he did in Eugene in 93 or 94.  RIP.

Damn!!! RIP Ken.

4winds, I was at Rosemont in 93 as well.

I will have to listen to "Devout Catalyst" today.

I forget which NYE show he helped broadcast but I remember him saying as midnight approached, "It's beginning to begin....."

Travel on stardust. RIP

I was there at Rosemont for those and remember  the snow 'storm of the century' that began that night leading to the Richfield cancellation.  Those Rosemont shows were tough tickets to find.

Loved the stuff Jerry did with him, RIP.

Mail ordered to all three of the Rosemont shows.

Sad.

RIP.

Always liked his stuff.  Devout Catalyst is great and features a good Tom Waits cameo, and the Word Jazz series of records are classics.  His "Colors" album is an overlooked gem.  I always dug "Chartreuse".

Thank you for your art, Ken.  RIP.

Bummer!  I love his word art.  First heard his colors series on the local college radio.  Love his butter-bicker-battle story.

They just played a version of flibberty jib on Tales From The Golden Road that was recorded back stage at the Oakland Coliseum with Ken Nordine, Jerry, Mickey and Hamaz El Din.  It was remarkable, so I'm remarking.

I knew nothing of him at the time.

Strangely (though I suppose appropriate, considering our community happenings), I was going through Rasputin's clearance CD's last weekend and came upon the "Devout Catalyst" CD.  Saw Jerry and David on the back of the cover and picked it up.

Finally listening to it now...
