RIP Julyan Kasper

Forums:

Julyan was a long time personality in Corvallis Oregon.  Most folks knew him as the manager / day bartender at Squirrels Tavern for the last 20 some odd years, but he was also an accomplished musician, playing guitar / bass / drums in different local bands (mostly punk).  I played with him for 4 years in a band called "Mottburger", we started out as a Tom Waits cover band, but evolved from there.  RIP Julyan, give em hell on the other side!

Friends and family are dropping. It sucks.

Sorry for your loss, Noodler.

RIP Julyan.

Sorry to hear this sad news.

I've been acquainted with that Guy for over 25 years;  hard to believe He's gone.

Always a Friendly at Squirrel's place,  and I can't recall a single time he threw me out.

Mostly I remember Him during the daily Classic Movie Afternoon times,  watching "Serpico"  or  "Oh Brother Where Art Thou"  on the corner TV.

Might have rolled a few Kegs there from down the Avenue,  and rolled a few Empties back.  That was my occupation then.

I guess He paid me for the Beer and I left a receipt,  as according to the rules.  It was actually TONS OF FUN to roll down the Avenue with a Keg or two on a Hand-Truck.

Actually,  I rented the  former Ghost-Web-Grey shack out on Shot - Pouch Creek when Julyan and His Lady found finer accommodations closer to town...
They left a few Firewood-splits and some Kindling in the Wood box by the stove,  which was very considerate...

DARN IT JULYAN !!

We hardly knew ya crying

Sincere condolences to all feeling the pain of this loss.

Very sad.  Best wishes to Laura and the kids.  I remember his dog Rudy, who followed me around during an experimental time in his neighborhood.. Seemed like the dog knew all.  Julyan will be missed.  A reminder to enjoy our limited time in this world, and to take good care.
