Carlos' little brother, guitarist for the pioneering Latin-Horn Rock fusion band Malo has passed into the spirit realm.  He never achieved the widespread fame of his big brother, but made some great music on his own.  The NPR story linked here covers all the great bands from the early 70's Latin Rock scene; Malo, El Chicano, Azteca, War, who came up in the wake of the Santana Band's success.  I've come across most of these band's records in my years of record digging, and would recommend them all.
