does it come with a virtual happy ending from the Happy Cashier?

Thanks for the link, it was refreshing to not find a paywall.

I'm stunned. It's a new idea to me, and I don't know what to think about it.

How 'bout the people who are looking for jobs in New York?

Surviving the Trump Covid caused inflation.  Inventive.

I've heard of a few chain sit-down restaurants that take it a step further and just give their customers a tablet to place their order on instead of having a waitperson take it.

People are all but done once they figure out how to get a piece of tech to buy something from another piece of tech, if they haven't already. We're just not necessary anymore.

yea once they figure out to feed us by robotic whatnot waitstaff are fully fucked

I think it was a 60 Minutes segment late last year, 3 or more AI ceo's openly stated that 40% of service jobs will be eliminated, and sooner than later.

And the above example isn't even AI.  The wealthy aren't interested in your well being. They're interested in their well being, and they don't mind at all being open about it.  This  certainly shouldn't be shocking news.

I was just in England, and many of the food establishments of all sizes had QR codes on the table with a table #. Although you could order through a server, there was a discount for going people-free.
