God Bless Richie Havens ~ He would have been 77 today. He inspired millions of people and treated us (me included) as a personal friend... <3

such a beautiful human

Thanks for starting this thread, it's sweet. Man, we've had some great music and even better human beings around during our lives.

Amen, Sistah...

He was a dear friend of mine and I miss him so.

Yesterday morning, his recording of Here Comes The Sun came on the radio, as a birthday tribute. I've had the album that it appeared on, "Alarm Clock", since I was a kid and my Dad stage managed a show he did on Long Island back in the early 70s. Being a kid, I knew about this before I ever knew about the larger picture, Woodstock, all that.

He and that record have a place in my heart

I think of Richie Havens a real lot. Was very fortunate to meet/hang, work, party and see Richie perform both privately and publicly

Richie's company Stormy Forest Productions was crafty and employed some talented artists in NY.

I posted this at YouTube last week. Check out Richie doing Rocky Raccoon on track 2.
