Agree Johnny. Here is an article on a recent study of the "perception gap," whereby folks on the left and the right often have skewed views of their political opponents that overstate the differences and underestimate how much Americans generally have in common and how Americans’ mental image of the “other side” is a largely a caricature:
We have a Republican president who continually stokes racist fears in his base. He calls certain countries 'sh*tholes,' tells women of color to "go back" to where they came from and lies more than he tells the truth," he added.
He finished the tweets asking his colleagues to no longer look the other way.
"When the history books are written, I refuse to be someone who said nothing," he said. "The time is now for us Republicans to be honest with what is happening inside our party. We are better than this and I implore my Republican colleagues to stand up and do the right thing."
I won't start a thread, but I would like to take this opportunity to say how nice it is to have Portland Ken on this board. A strong contributor IMHO. Concert reviews, opinion, info, what have you.
If American's are mostly oriented in a similar space, maybe said larger context can be viewed as a "tabula rasa" that has been manipulated by propoganda.

I've met a lot of good people on both sides; and parts in between.
In general, people aren't so different from each other as many would like to believe.
IMHO, of course

Haters gonna' hate.
Republican supporters / “haters” of Democrats - Democrat supporters / "haters" of Republicans?
Ultimately they're two sides of the same coin.
Haters gonna' hate.
WHAT they hate are just the details.
