Their voting base is turning it into regional party that will have to try harder at stealing the next presidential election in order to get back to the White House.

In case you missed it the Judge in TX completely played the Governor, Representative Dan Crenshaw, and Tucker Carlson who have all said the guy who killed the BLM protestor should be pardoned.
He released text messages from the guy where he says he is a racist who wants to hunt black people. We'll see if they walk it back now, but they will probably build a statue of him instead.
