Tatters, Ken, everyone else who's posting stereotypes based on race, culture and ethnicity, they are "racist stereotypes" - how can you say they are not?
Tatters, why specify black people - most people like fried chicken.
Even though you say they're positive, Ken, "Jews are good with money" is often used negatively, and certainly isn't true of many people.
Stereotypes have a lot of truth in them, and there's at least one for every group, I bet. It's great when we can laugh at the stereotypes about our own group.
A totally different story when people use stereotypes to be derogatory, mean, or worse, and I think we all know that line has been crossed when we encounter it.
Here's a fun one. Guy I know hired a lot of different Central Americans over the years for his house-painting biz. From what he said, the Guatemalans and Mexicans dislike each other. So he asked a guy "How can you tell which one's Guatemalan or Mexican ?"
"Their hair's all fucked-up" was the obvious answer. I'm sending that one to Weir in case he still does his comedy spots these days.
