The show ended around midnight, but apparently the Godchaux's couldn't sleep, something about lighting matches and fire at $400 in damages at 6am the next morning.
Outside of music, does he have any hobbies or interests he'd like to elaborate on;
Does he do any cooking, have a favorite something he likes to make? Perhaps different favorite meals thru his life (kids faves, touring faves, Chez Ray stories, post medical dietary adjustments, etc),
Garcia did drawing, any craft type things he enjoys doing.
I heard he like reading to the kids, does he have any favorite authors or books (outside of the obvious beat generation writers he was a part of, which elaborating on would be great!).
How about the sciences, any field of study fascinate him? (astronomy, geology, biology, etc)
Any lesser known musicians or bands he'd like to throw a plug to?
A million gear questions, but the historical perspective on the evolution of the gear would be cool (so much focus on the Wall of Sound, as there should be, but that's such a small part of the trip).
Bad blood usually destroys bands, they rarely last as long as the GD. Since this has been such a negative year, any reflections on how you were able to resolve or elevate the mood when things got dour, in other words, not interested in the dirt and weeds, but how the manure got turned into flowers and fruit again, lol.
What is your relationship with Oregon?
Always heard that you didn't like playing up here.... was it the venues, the fans or the Pranksters?
When you and Scofield played a scary nasty freaky Unbroken Chain jam at your first appearance at Lockn--the high humidity year--did you plan that ahead of time?
Favorite color?
Favorite birthday treat?
If you were to take me on a tour of favorite Bay Area places that inspired your music, what would be the top 5 spots?
I was living in Rockford at the time and not a DH yet but have the local free music paper from that time and has a review of the show. I might post it tomorrow. apparently tickets went on sale 2 days before the 11/29 show.
BTW Phil say's "This is the happiest day of my life" after IMHBTRoses. And I think I read somewhere that Phil was married to some chick back then who wasn't right for him? Anyone else hear that?
I have listened to the show in question and heard Phil say that. He says it in such a way that it makes me laugh. Most likely you won't get an answer but good luck!
^ I swear he played a show at his club where he purposefully left a string detuned a half step, just to see what it would sound like... went on thru most the set, at first I thought he was truely deaf, but later thought what a way to fuck with things for curiosities sake... who will ever know???

Maybe something to do with
Maybe something to do with one of the best shows of 1977??
If 5/8 & 5/22 are A+, this one is a very solid A.
Best show after they got back out on tour following the June Winterland shows ended the Spring Tour.
And a very clean board>>>https://archive.org/details/gd1977-10-29.sbd.miller.92085.sbeok.flac16
Maybe not the best for Keith & Donna....

I'd be inclined to ask something not related to GD...
(I know, the Kimock thing is off the table)
... then again Phil does seem to enjoy talking about the Dead.
