Quarantine

Portland just banned all live music performances for 30 days!  This cancels over a thousand gigs, affecting over 300 musicians, with a total income loss of almost $385.26

We've only heard and read about these sorts of times...

Noodler, ha good one about the musicians :-)

I lathered up in hand sanitizer and went to the local pub for happy hour. Last time for 4 weeks. Bummer. Solid cadre of locals (Sellwood neighborhood for you Portland folks), but that's it for a month. Kinda a sad vibe at the pub.

if you got a skate

you no what it schralph

oddly enough, Portland's bar / restaurant closure begins on St Patrick's Day.

This is what happens when you don't forward that message to 10 people.....

Bay Area shelter in place means that I'm working at home for awhile.  Not used to doing so and I'm wondering if our antiquated computer system is up to supporting hundreds of staff trying to access it offsite.  We'll see.

So, it'll be 4 of us sharing close quarters and trying to complete work,  school, and other assignments.  Kai has pretty rough cold symptoms and a slight fever, but he won't be tested, because he's under 18 years old and his temperature is not high enough.  We're keeping a close eye on him and trying to remain healthy ourselves.

Enjoy your time indoors

Take care, everyone.

Nellie has pinched me twice already.  Damn. I gotta find something green to wear.

Ken, my wife is working front lines on this whole thing. She tells me that with coronavirus anything from 37.3C (91.4F) is to be considered a fever (which is not considered a fever anywhere else). If you can access the test, I recommend doing it anyway. This bug ain't no joke.

Me, today is day 1 of remote-work modality. Uploading materials all day for my students and making sure my teachers are uploading and correcting all their stuff. Should be interesting. Plus I gotta keep my two kids in line and make sure they're staying busy during the day with their remote school-work. That's not really an issue though, they're organized and not hard to motivate.

My wife, on the other hand, who usually sees a ton of elderly, infants and diabetic patients, told her bosses all respiratory cases are not welcome in their office as they will likely infect a very vulnerable population. So, from now on she'll do half her shift in the ER wearing a full on bad-guy-from-ET hazmat suit type thing to see patients. Craziness. She gets home and takes off her clothes outside of the house before walking in and then washes hands face etc in a prolonged soap and bubbles ritual. It'd be kinda sexy if it wasn't for the deadly disease looming over the situation, haha.

On the bright side, I'll have more time to be connected to the zone, which means all you wild animals get to enjoy my needling presence more often. So I got that going for me...

Stay safe, Zone. Stay healthy.

Ken, get your kid tested if you can...

Gotta be end days.

Saint Patrick's Day and all the fucking bars are closed.

>>>>>anything from 37.3C (91.4F) is to be considered a fever

That's 99.1 F.

Yeah, we're starting to get just a little bit pissed off about the whole thing.

Keeping a close eye on the kid and hoping he starts feeling (and sounding) better.

Javs, I'm wishing all the best for you and your wife (hoping she can keep the germs at bay).  And the kids as well.
