Found a great mini documentary on Psychedelic Cumbia music, I think everyone will really enjoy!
<<Peru’s Response To 60s Rock? Psychedelic Cumbia.
Just as rock and roll fever was sweeping the English-speaking world, a totally unique and fascinating genre of trippy, fuzzy dance music was emerging from Peru. This unlikely blend of tropical, indigenous and psychedelic rock music is a must-listen for rock fans.

Cool. Thanks.
The weaving of the multiple drummers gave much to improv based music. The "Spanish tinge".

Of course Elvin Jones could bring that flow by himself.

I was waiting for a bus in a bar up in the Andes near the Chile-Argentina border a few years back and heard the most amazing psychedelic rock on the radio. Sounded like Pink Floyd but with Spanish lyrics. It didn't have traditional Latin rhythms, but was straight up hard driving space rock. Have looked and looked but can't find out who it was. Perhaps Dave can recommend some Latin American hard driving psychedelic rock music?

I'm more familiar with some of the psychedelic Tropicalia music. The legendary Brazilian band Os Mutantes just played the Freak Out Festival here in Ballard last weekend, although with just one original member. A more modern South American band that shows a psychedelic influence that I like is the Colombian band Aterciopelados.
I'm not sure which band you heard, Ken. Sounds cool. Que es Sud Americano Stoner Rock? I did find this article about South American psychedelic Rock:
