We, and that means the world, are in this mess because the Communist leadership in China decided that it was more important to protect the image of the party in early December than to take the necessary precautions that were obviously needed at that point. If they had locked down Wuhan on December 9, when they first knew that it could be transmitted between humans (depite denying it for another 5 weeks) none of this would have happened.

If you read the article they took a bunch of half measures to stop the consumption of wild animals and then had loop holes in the half measures. Look China gets to do whatever they want with regards to what they want to eat, but if they want to be at the head of the supply chain for the world then they get to eat duck, chicken, beef, pork, lamb, and sea food and that is it.
This is the second time through. No more chances. They also have to allow the CDC to have a permanent presence in China. Oh no we did have that but Trump cut those jobs to give tax cuts to billionaires.
