Is Phil still among us?

What's up with the Lesh's?

Staying at home like most people in the Bay Area, especially high risk individuals.

He did some stuff awhile back on his back porch during Covid. Why doesn't he do like Jorma and play a show every week. He must be itching to play.

Sigh. missin Phil.

Is Phil a fungus among us?

I think Phil is just a-sittin' on his metaphorical rocking chair these days with a straw in his mouth watching while the grandkids grow up.

I may be wrong.

If I was sitting on Phil's $$ and made it that age, I'd be doing whatever the F I wanted, sprinkled with a dose of PHILanthropy. That's me- I'm not Phil.

His phillesh.net site is down and his facebook page hasn't had any news since July. ??

On 9/1/20 TXR sent out an email with rescheduled dates for some shows.

The shows that include Phil were listed as TBD Spring 2021. I assume that means there is little or no chance we will see Phil in 2020.

If I were Phil (80 years old, lots of $, extensive medical history, my house located in an area with hazardous air), I would go somewhere else for a few months.

Sounds like TXR could be shut down till Spring ?  That Covid scare must've been too much. I have neighbors who own a restaurant and have had a couple of workers get Covid, they shut down for 2 days and had everyone tested and then reopened. Guessing Phil doesn't need the money that badly to risk his health and that of his family, friends and staff.

^But that doesn't mean he can't communicate with his fans who made him millions and play a show from his backyard or online,  plus his website in no more.

At least tell us what's up!

Oh, he owes us. Got it.

good luck with that.

Have you ever been a part of the hoodie mafia at TXR, doolittle?

I feel fortunate to have seen Phil play a few times in 2020.

His first shows back after his back surgery hiatus, he played damn well and he looked healthy & spry and he kept adding shows in January & February. He looked ready to rock his big birthday shows at the Capitol in March.

I had the feeling 2020 was going to be a great year for him, and at 80 how many more of those can one hope for?

At the end of every year a VERY common theme is, "FUCK THIS YEAR! I can't wait to get on with the next one!"

I always feel like that's a short-sighted way to look at things, as no matter how bad a year may have been, we get a precious few of these trips around the sun and IMO they should never be taken for granted or pushed aside.

Except this year.

FUCK 2020!!!

I can't wait to get on with 2021, and see Phil play again!!!

Hey look! "Phil should..." Phil ought to..." Why isn't Phil..."

Who says Viva isn't like the Philzone?

And BTW doolittle, Phil earned those millions, we didn't give him anything. We paid for a service, and I think most of us would agree that we got what we paid for, and very often more.

Phil doesn't need to chat with us, he never did much of that anyway or looked comfortable when he did.

If he wanted to play more of those back porch shows he would, but I figure he likes playing to an audience and that's why he's not doing more of those.

I hope he's fine and staying away from everything, and IMO, no news is good news from Phil's camp.

phil is a giant

kind and connected with us

we are beyond blessed

All I got to say is people invested a lot of their live's and the deal is down!

>>> All I got to say is people invested a lot of their live's and the deal is down! <<<

I don't understand what you mean. Would you please explain? Thanks.

Weirdest thread title I've seen in some time, but not weird in a good way. It seems to imply that Phil has passed.

Also strange is the vibe that Phil owes somebody something. To counteract that nonsense, I'm reminded of a poem by Raymond Carver.

Gravy

by Raymond Carver

No other word will do. For that’s what it was. Gravy.
Gravy, these past ten years.
Alive, sober, working, loving and
being loved by a good woman. Eleven years
ago he was told he had six months to live
at the rate he was going. And he was going
nowhere but down. So he changed his ways
somehow. He quit drinking! And the rest?
After that it was all gravy, every minute
of it, up to and including when he was told about,
well, some things that were breaking down and
building up inside his head. “Don’t weep for me,”
he said to his friends. “I’m a lucky man.
I’ve had ten years longer than I or anyone
expected. Pure gravy. And don’t forget it.”

Yeah, the thread title is uncomfortably strange for me.

Viva Phil!

Strange?

You have a site called thephilzone and Phil is absentee and I ask what's up and the question is strange!?

America is finished! SAD!

A thread titled "What's Up with Phil?" is one thing; a thread titled "Is Phil still among us?" is something entirely else.

Do you want to weigh in on the sense of entitlement thing while you're at it, doolittle? Or would that just make you sadder?

No doctor d --

You must focus solely upon TV politics...

There's a fat one and a senile one,  each with a Message.

Arguing about that will "Make The World Better"  but don't go see Live Music,  not until 'Science' says it's OK.
But don't read anything actually 'Scientific'  or educate yourself.  Just watch TV and learn everything there,  from TV Scientologists.

They know more than people that aren't on TV,  so it's all true what they say.

Sumatra is trolling because he's a troll.

This site isn't called "thephilzone", and Phil's not "absentee", because he rarely communicated through social media, so it's not strange or concerning that he's not now.

And yes, the thread title pretty clearly infers that you're afraid that Phil has died, but like most Americans you're not listening, you just expect everyone to listen to YOU.

Sure, it would be nice if Phil did a video bit that said, "Hey everyone, I'm OK and I'm hoping you're OK", but he doesn't OWE that to us, and there's no reason to think that something is wrong because he hasn't.

But feel free to continue your melt.

Pffft! LOL!

SO WHERE IS PHIL?

Feel free to continue your melt > ALL CAPS

Classic.

i was there for the first time in July. Found it by accident.

ph.jpg

And Melt! Pffft! LOL! Isn't Grateful Shred playing in Ojai?

I miss that place.

And apologies for the pokes doolittle. I'm sure you're just interested/concerned.

We all hope Phil is fine.

Phil enjoys the show Ice Truckers, as well as making braised cabbage dishes. No much more complicated than this.

If I were Phil I'd probably not be in the bay area during the smoke event

excluding that I for one hope he soaks daily in a hot tub filled with spring water from the spring on his land on MT. Tam. (Thanx to that GD50 thingy)And drinking tall glasses of lemonade made with said spring water

I always liked Ice Road Truckers - wish they were still making it,

Braised cabbage not so much.

Phil might want to consider doing these personalized  greetings, seems that it would be something that those who want to hear from him directly would want and a it's good way to earn some income working at home.
