Phil Oregon

Forums:

I get that he doesn't like to tour anymore...but between vegas...ny...lock-in...it's not like travel is out of the question...why not one more Oregon run?

(((((Phil Oregon)))))

make it happen!

Would be totally cool but very unlikely.

I agree, one more Pl&f performance in OR would b dope

If only! I always heard a rumor that Phil and Jill visited Horning's Hideout to tour the venue...kept holding hope that maybe someday there'd be an Oregon PLF show.

If there were a promoter willing to do virtually all the legwork and pay huge guaranteed bucks I would guess Phil would do it.

But there's only one of those and he doesn't have a venue in Oregon.

It's certainly fun seeing him in his intimate room at TXR (or outside in the back yard or in the bar), but I do miss seeing him in a bigger space every now and then.

Meh. Never say never, but kind of unlikely

Phil & Friends could pull off a weekend Fest at Horning's with say, DNB, Leftover Salmon and a few other Jamgrass -> psychedelifunk acts sprinkled in.

They'd do great ticket sales and attract a slightly older, more sedate audience compared to the SCI fests  there.

Maybe a couple one-nighters at Cuthbert, McDonald or Hult Center on the way there and back...

OCF grounds could be a potential spot, but it's tricky compared to Horning's in that regular Fairies have their long-time vendor spots on the property.

I sorta doubt that he's really all that interested in touring, even in the next-door State.

That would be road trip worthy!

Phil played the Cuthbert back in 2001(?) which was a fun show.   When Phil was in town for his book signing, I asked him about Hornings and he had heard of it and expressed interest in playing there sometime.  Mickey and Bill played there in 2010 and Bill returned with one of his bands a couple years later.   I don't think Phil and Bill sit around swapping venue tips these days, but the fact that the drummers have graced Hornings' stage is encouraging for hopes of their former bandmates doing likewise.   Scott Law is a regular every year at Hornings too and maybe he could give some support to having Phil come up sometime.

Good perspective, Portland Ken.

Hmmmm maybe Shappy will buy Horning's Hideout someday! ;)
