Lesh will become the first Grateful Dead member to play the famed Harlem venue, where he will be joined by the Harlem Gospel Choir and frequent collaborators, The Terrapin Family Band (Grahame Lesh, Jason Crosby, Ross James and Alex Koford), plus vocalist Nicki Bluhm, Grammy-winning guitarist Eric Krasno, hip-hop artist and activist Talib Kweli, and sacred steel guitar maestro Robert Randolph.
note that VOTE18 works. $750 tix includes reception and Phil photo. pulled a Row A, seat 101, but to much to pay considering i'm likely to be 1st row in Central park anyway. throwing it back
I think you are both missing the point. The people who donate those sums of money are going to donate it anyway, with or without the perk of the reception and concert. Hell, I've worked charity events that are 10k for a seat and they get Tom Chapin and the Chapin Family (Harry's brother, children and cousins) for the concert and a fancy meal.
So instead of having to pay taxes to help fix our roads, fund the military, Medicare, fund the military, food assistance, subsidize farmers and the rest - they give their money to the Family Band? That doesn’t sound good.
