Phil in Bridgeport !!!

Forums:

is there even a roll call to be had?

~> jlp & my homeslice Cin (paging BobbyM from CT!)

Lesh, Haynes, Medeski, Scofield & Molo.  What a band!!!!  The good old days are back!

How many peeps are gonna go to Hartford to find the Hartford Medical Pavillion, which is NOT located in Hartford.

I'm so in with my (we don't use the step-word) 'Extra Son'.

Smile^3!!!

Check that.... Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater in

Bridgeport?

Yep

2 equally terrible cities

Lol>d'oh

And yea I'm looking for a GA ticket

(:

(((((Bonus Son)))))

Married my wife when he was 4 y.o., with Dad still present in his life, so I was called his "Extra Daddy" through his childhood.

When he got a little brother from Mom & me, he introduced him to his Dad: "Forrest , this is your Extra Daddy"

Family classic.

Bonus Son..... that's damn good!   I'll run that by him

We had my "Near Son" who didn't want to be "step" til Greg and I got married 7 years later.

Since now, 30-some years later we've long-skipped the "near" and "step", his kids don't quite get it that we don't share DNA, but their Nonni (Rosie) is the one who does.

I got together with my "wife" (not married but longtime partners) when her son from a previous marriage was 5. He is now 27, well adjusted, and happily married. I feel fortunate and lucky to have helped shape him into the man he is and has become. His bio Dad was not the best, all around, but was more or less "involved" throughout. We'll leave it at that. He still calls me to say that he can't shake some of "the dead songs" from his head but likes it. LOL

I'm in for Bridgeport.  So psyched!

Thanks Trailhead. This is a thread about Bridgeport!

Well, Nod, now it might be about Bridgeport and sons. Have fun!

Yes Hartford Healthcare Amphitheater is in Bridgeport

Brewport is right there for a few brews and I hear it's decent although I've yet to make it. Pepe's Pizza Fairfield not far away but not the same as New Haven if you have the time. Two Roads Stratford has all kinds of beers and some really quality sours.

I'll be at the Phil shoe !

Eat, Drink, and Think of JERRY!!!!!

I'm in with a rare appearance of the better half, go to the show   {{{{{{scofield}}}}}}}

((((Sons of Bridgeport)))))

Annnnnd, my homey is a genuine daughter of bport lol. She's gonna scope the place out tomorrow and see what the parking/'hood is all about. Will report back!

On the dad front:

My boy called Alex dad for awhile until big sis ratted him out to the bio father, and he got a private talking to. Needless to say; it didn't end well.

Anyhoo; my father's Spirit is always around me which is a comfort. Even though I've recently considered the possibility he may not be my mother's baby daddy. Lol yikes.

Here's to one of Our Collectively Fave Dads:

Sigmund I'd be down for potential meetup if you discover a just exactly perfect place (:

Got my $30 ticket and pretty psyched for this.

Black Rock neighborhood is the best zone for area for pre-show activities...just a few minutes away. I'm still preferable to the venerable BRYAC but there are several other good options. The Blind Rhino has nice beer selection. Its right next to the Aspetuck Brew Lab, another nice pre-show option.

Despite the tragically awful name of the venue, it's really great. They did an unbelievable job in the conversion from a baseball park to a music venue. There is very little not to like about it.

Generally speaking the sound is better once you go up in the raised seats. It can get a bit muddy on the floor, at least with the shows I've seen there so far.

On board w/posse

BRYAC is a great bar in Fairfield. Good place to meet up. I am working as much as I can before Friday so I can get out at a reasonable time. I like to be at the lot for 4:20 so if I can I'll stop at Bryac. Black Rock Yatch Arhletic Club. It's a lot cooler than it sounds Lol

I hear parking is free at the venue.  Not by choice, the traffic backed up horribly so they opted for free parking for smoother flow of vehicles.   I won't be surprised if they charge for parking for Phil though because we are all custies and they know it.

I haven't seen any free parking so far, not in the main lots.

The best call for free parking is on the other side of 95, by Ralph 'n Rich's and the Stress Factory. Its then only a 5 minute walk to the venue.

The venue is right up the road from Vibes Central,  Seaside Park. Less than a mile. I gotta work till 2 then we should have plenty of time to hit up a nice ceremonial buzz at Seaside around 4 then get right up to the lot for more pregame fun. Will have plenty of good beers and bones to share.

Text 860-480-9654 whoever wants to meet up.

The Show Is In Bridgeport!!! not Hartford (I'm just going to keep saying it)

Parking is $25 I believe (don't quote me) there is a small Field like parking lot and a multi level indoor garage.

Friday is gunna be 90*+ so prepare accordingly

Will touch base Raz would love to meet up for a phatty.

Parking is included in ticket price according to the venue, got an email this morning, i'd post it but image posting on this site is not possible on a mac :(

General parking is included in the price of your ticket and is located in the
Transit Garage at Harbor Yard on South Frontage Road.

VIP and Premier Parking is available for a fee

The general parking garage opens at 5:00 pm according to an email I got from the venue today.  Premier / VIP custie parking opens at 4:30.

No upgrade necessary.

I was wondering if it was near the ghost of gotv

Timing of this show really couldn't be better, with the state of affairs of things an shit. Need some Blessed Relief (thanks frank)

Plus we don't go to a lot of shows anymore for various reasons, so the soul's been running on impulse power. Need a good shot of rhythm and space blues. This one should fill the regular and reserve tanks. This should be a special one.

July 4th weekend blast off like the days of old,, Fuck Yes !!!

Photo of the venue from this Monday's Black Crowes show. Not sure why this band can never get their sound dialed in properly but that's another tale.

Will do! I'm getting Psyched for Phil!

Lesh, Molo, Scofield, Warren, Medeski.

Nice to just see only primetime players for this puppy.

BRYAC awaits.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeee

In case I miss bryac (my posse being somewhat unreliable with time constraints), you got my # for a possible lot hookup. And if that too fails, here's my seats -

Sec 101
Row T
Seats 3 + 4

It's gonna be hotter than hades, 90 or so,  so dress light, plan accordingly. (1 pint of water for every 4 beers)

Ahhhhhh summer tours !!#@!!!!!

It's my daughters Amanda + Melissa's birthday  today. One's seeing D n C at Bethel Woods, the other is babysitting Salem. Even at a year and half, he still gets wicked separation anxiety being away from me.

~~Psyched for you folks getting to go!!!~~~~

See you freaks there!@! What a traffic nightmare

Here I sit in front of the venue awaiting the arrival of my girl and and I have a sweet ticket thanks to Todd from New Hampshire

Parking is abundant and free at this point although it is still early the girl who I love that I met last October and parked right in front of said that the parking is free but you have to pay to vend which none of you all have to probably worry about and this is talk to text and I'm not going to read it so I love Phil I love yall in the collective sense

OK I read a little bit of it and tried to fix it but anyway Viva LA PHIL

Well shit bryac is a 7 minute drive!

.....

Phil is back in Connecticut!!!

I'll be looking out for you, JLP and Cinderoo.

Should be a good show. Certainly an "A" list lineup. Those going enjoy and be safe. Happy 4th everyone.

(((((BobbyM!)))))

Hope your time was just exactly perfect and you made it home safe..... and I'm so glad you and Cin got to hook up (:

Until next time!

It was Amazing !  Sound was horrible on the floor, so I went on a mission for a sweet spot....found it center stage 2 level <3. Staff was cool, they told me to go and find a good spot...no one will bother you.  I find the spot, look down and an old school zoner and good friend was right there, we haven't seen each other for a long time. It was my beloved Keyshawn and his son in law, also ran into a few others ..Ted, Bobby M and some gals from the zone.

Then there were the ones that don't say hi and just laugh at you in the bathroom while walking away, some things just never change...;)

Ohhh well, that is indeed their shit !

Beautiful night with my gf's from home that have never seen them together, long ride home but hubby Bob did an amazing job getting us back to South Jersey safe, chillin today and local music tomorrow <3.

Happy 4th everyone, second set magic for sure <3

A couple of pics from JIll:

Lololol thanks my dear!!!!!!

I've gotta few sunset photos from Asbury I'll send along

For

#mysweetphilblog #tm #LeshIsLove

Set 1: Althea (Warren lead vocals), Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodeloo (Phil lead vocals), She Said She Said (The Beatles) (Warren lead vocals), Atlantic City (The Band) (Amy lead vocals), Bertha (Warren lead vocals), Black Muddy River (Amy lead vocals), Sugaree (Warren lead vocals)

Set 2: Shakedown Street (Warren lead vocals), The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys (Traffic) (Warren lead vocals), St. Stephen (Phil lead vocals), Unbroken Chain, Help on the Way (Warren lead vocals), Slipknot!, Franklin’s Tower (Warren and Phil vocals)

Encore: In the Midnight Hour (Wilson Pickett) (Warren lead vocals)

Best Phil show I've seen in many years. Not a dry eye for Black Muddy.  Excellent set list, Low Spark, Unbroken and Help Slip were highlights for me. Sco was the glue when it got too spacey. Molo simply "the Man".  Also Great to meet you Mayor, putting faces to the names is nice.

^ ya know one'a these days it's gonna happen. By the time we got there at 6 we barely had enough time to get a proper lot rat buzz going (only 2 hrs). Among other things, I brought some of my homemade winter welcome ale the icing on the cake before show entry,,, one'a these days lad.

<< #mysweetphilblog #tm #LeshIsLove

What kind of trickery is this ? Do I have to join some kind of special # club to access your review ? Or will you be kind enough to share it here ?

For jlp -

"man you should have seen it, about half way thru shakedown this chick dirvish twirled clear out of her shoes"

or

Again Cinderella ?  And always at a Phil show it seems.

Sigmund, Made My Day,, Just to sit down in a place to Chill,.And you to come in and sit next to me,,  And We just start talking...  GREAT TIMES...... LONG LIVE THE ZONE!!!!!!!!!

So a couple'a zoners walk into a bar for a Phil pregame,,,,

for some reason I got writers block, somebody help me out here.

> So a couple'a zoners walk into a bar for a Phil pregame,,,,

And there was a fellow wearing clamdiggers and a cowboy hat at the end of the bar who had this short fat squat ugly little yellow dog.

was his nose cut clean off?

The nose of the short fat squat ugly little yellow dog? Why, yes; its nose was cut off, and he smelled blooming awful.

This performance is an embarrassment to Phil's legacy. Dude, rehearse or don't bother.

Jams went nowhere. Sounded good at times but most of it - including the bulk of the second set - amounted to meandering, aimless playing. I expect more from Phil.

Guess you had to be there

Lololol

(((Razzzzz)))

Was there. Jams went nowhere.

I'll say it.

I'm over Warren playing with Phil. It was fun in the beginning but I'd rather see Warren do Warren these days then an unrehearsed sit in.

And Sco has no business trying to play dance music. Stick to what your good at JazzMan. Never liked him with Phil.
