Peter Rowan BBQ on the Lawn

Yep, this is his annual birthday show they've been doing there for several years now.

i went last year, it's pretty nice.

Saw the Weir Band at that place in October of '78 (and had Phil bump into me at the bar).  Good to know it's still around.

I like that photo. Thanks, Zooey.

Damn, I can't even imagine that place in 78'.

it's super quaint and isolated so I'd guess much hasn't changed.

Reconstruction (with Garcia) played there several times in '79.

Wow, this sounds pretty damn cool.

If I end up figuring out how to get to the Psycho Genius show is Sac the night before (to make that I'd have to stay over which at the moment is problematic) I could hit this show on the way home, and if I don't make it up for Hoover, E & Mylar's Big Show in Saco'tomatoes I could easily make it up to this place from San Jose by 4:00.

Either way it will likely be a game-time decision.

Will this thing sell out?

Great shot of Pete.  Where does one get those fancy palm tree denim trousers?

It will probably not sell out but I certainly can't guarantee that.

also, parking can b a bit of a pain if u arrive late

Great spot--go there now and again.  1978 was the year they started to do shows.  After Hot Tuna split in 78, Jorma did one of his first post Tuna solo gigs there

Hawaii? Some place like this? https://kealopiko.com/lookbook.php

I don't think it's denim, though. Matching jacket, too!

I've been going to the Rowan birthday gigs for years and I don't think it ever sold out Lance. It's a great time on a Sunday afternoon. Great BBQ too!

That picture is similar to his album cover from 1978...without the creeper chick in the backround.

Now you have me shopping for island wear for me and the Mrs.

What a fun day at Rancho Nicasio!

I heard Maria Muldaur sat in.

Sorry I missed it.

She did and was fantastic. A lot of guests and an eclectic mix of Peter's career. Fun show.

Sounds fantastic- happy for those who were able to attend.
