Hey Now,
Things are moving along on the moving front, and one of the things I have to get taken care of is moving our 3 cats and 1 bearded dragon lizard.
I have looked at Paws up pet transport, Uship, pet relocation, and move pets. I am in the process of getting pricing and stuff from them, but I was wondering if anyone had any experience with a great pet transport agency or service. I'm guessing United's out, but any suggestions, recommendations, advice, or other assistance would be greatly appreciated.
The house is under contract. Fingers crossed all goes well. We close in 30 days.

We transported our dog years ago through Delta. They did a good job for us. You may want to look into them. I'm sure if they do reptiles though.

My Aunt recently found a guy
My Aunt recently found a guy who drove her 2 pug dogs from upstate New York to California. It only took a few days and she was very happy about the service.
I'll see if she can provide me with contact information.
BTW: Schwa, I apologize for not responding to your canoe email/thread. You may wish to check in with EBMUD, which manages some of the reservoirs in the area (San Pedro, Briones, Upper San Leandro, etc). East Bay Regional Parks has a few as well (Lake Chabot, Del Valle, Los Vaqueros, etc). We've kayaked in Tomales Bay, Monterey Bay, and Elkhorn Slough, though those are in salt water and are a bit far away.
Best of outcomes for getting a nice place to stay and transporting your things (and pets, and yourselves) to your new home.

Years ago, when I moved to
Years ago, when I moved to California from Virginia, I had my cat flown out (can't remember the airline). He arrived safely but seemed pretty freaked out by the experience, and gave me the stink-eye for a few days until he realized he was in the kitteh promised land, surrounded by adoring Humboldt hippies who fed him salmon, with free reign to terrorize the local mice population. He never cared much for traveling in cars, though, so I doubt he would have liked that any better.
Good luck with your critters.
