I think holding up the NPS system and concluding they "exemplify the benefits & bounty of Socialism" is a bit of a stretch. Private, for-profit companies are subcontracted to manage the hospitality and food/bev operations in many of the highly trafficked parks.
I used to be a libertarian way back when, but then I heard their 1992 presidential candidate speak and he was talking with a straight face about selling Yellowstone to Disney. No thank you.
I can still live with having privately run campgrounds and lodges if it means keeping the timber and mining industries out of the parks. Thing about most national parks is they might seem crowded and commercialized in places, but get a 1000 yards down any trail and its whole different world.
Clearly you are clueless as to what socialism is. I don't recall a "means of production" associated with our national parks, other then the fact that it's a capitalistic system that supports them.

Are the zones and pockets of privatization in China not essentially capitalistic in nature?

Yes. In totality, his pen was responsible for what might be considered on par with the Louisiana purchase on the conservation front.
