So, how much do the athletes from various countries and disciplines get to hang out? Do they keep to themselves or are they mingling? I am hoping that there is some kickass hospitality center where they all stop by to get breakfast and snacks and play foosball, maybe drink some beers. Is there a blowout the night of the closing ceremony, some kind of intergalactic kegger? Are there in jokes where everybody can bond by making fun of Canada behind their backs? Do they play pranks on the other teams? What is the greatest number of countries represented in a single orgy?

Here's another Olympic
Here's another Olympic question. Why in the fuck do you need to take performance enhancing drugs to compete in Curling?
And I feel sorry for anybody with a latex allergy in the Olympic Village.

I assume these would be calming drugs, to assuage the yips.

Way WAY back I was fortunate
Way WAY back I was fortunate enough to qualify for what was then called the Olympic Sports Festival which was basically Summer games in non Olympic years, and just for USA athletes. It was a mix of participants ranging from hopefuls (like me) all the way up to previous Olympic medalists. We were housed in the LSU dorms and pretty much unsupervised (most of us were over 18), so there was a lot of fucking off going on (though there was very little privacy, so hooking up usually required getting a hotel).
We were there for over a week, so there was plenty of time to check out other events, which most did. And while it wasn't always easy for everyone to get around, we cyclists had the advantage of having our bikes.
Definitely a memorable time!
