gallery showing of art by Nychos, an artist who specializes in crazy psychedelic murals of bisected or translucent animals and people. you can see some images on his instagram; https://www.instagram.com/nychos/

im usually not super exited for paintings or sculpture, but this guy makes some pretty wild stuff and im exited to see some of it in a gallery setting. he has a great mural in downtown oakland on franklin around 14th street.

thought it might be fun for anyone who is in town for JRAD the next day or looking for something fun the day before

Hey daylight, are you familiar with this web site...

https://www.bayimproviser.com/calendar.aspx

I stumbled upon it a while back and really like it. It has pretty extensive listings of lots of truly weird music going on all around the Bay Area.

I've already caught a few great shows I never would have known about otherwise. Check it out if you haven't, I think it's right down your alley.

Sure it will be more interesting than the JRAD show.  They are stale these days.

That's what lots of original fans said in '72 about the Grateful Dead, it's exactly what an older dead head said to me in '78 and what I was saying in '87.

Perspective is a thing.

The art of living in the Bay Area on minimal funds is impressive.

Is that by that artist? I take it it is. I saw it when I was in San Fran last year and was really impressed by it. Took some pics for the family album, even...

Yes, it is a Nychos mural.  Right across from the old GD house in San Francisco.  I recognized the artist and had to look up this old thread.
