Now that i'm an east coaster (again), might as well take advantage of the few things i like the east coast over the west coast for.. jazz shows and pizza :)

New York City is definitely
New York City is definitely the best single city for jazz.
The Bay Area gets all that NYC does, in venues just as good or better, you just have to drive around farther to catch it all.
Overall these days if you live in or around just about any big city there is more major league jazz talent touring than ever before.
But in NYC you can pretty much find something pretty great every night.
