Noise Cancelling Headphones

Forums:

Greetings. I'm looking for your favorite not hugely expensive, comfortable lightweight over-ear noise canceling headphones. Blue tooth capable and corded. My ears aren't highly critical and they'll be mostly used for movies on an iPad on long-haul flights. I don't buy from Amazon.

Ideas? I read a couple of old threads but didn't come away with a clear idea. Also, there are probably newer models.

Thanks.

Hi Judit!

This link may help your research -- text me if it doesn't work for you, as I could send you my login if needed> https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/reviews/best-noise-cancelling-headpho...

The BOSE model is on sale at Staples.com  >  https://www.staples.com/bose-quietcomfort-45-wireless-active-noise-cance...

My office ordered me this brand.....they are 1/2 the price of BOSE and work well enough: https://www.cowinaudio.com/

taotronics?

I don't use the bells and whistles features but they sound great.  A might uncomfortable after a full set.

My son has a good Bose set and the silence when activated is pretty phenomenal. I bout a decent Sony set for about half the cost and although they are great for music they do not give you that silence when you want to shut out the outside world like the Bose

I like my Powerbeats Pro set (Bluetooth) which were a gift but they are not fully noise-cancelling or particularly inexpensive either. Upsides are that I can use one or another for phone calls and they don't fall out as they wrap around the ear and given that the audio parts do sit inside the ear there is some noise cancellation as well....I generally don't want to completely cut out nearly all outside noise either. Helpful or not, I hope that at least may help you decide what option may be best for you.

Bose outlet store is having a sale.   Check it out. Add SAVE50 coupon code and save yourself another $50 dollars.   I have a pair of the Rondo audio sunglasses.   Work great.  Buy different lenses to pop in.  Even prescription.

If I could do over , I would go strait to the Tempos.

Thanks, I will look into all of your suggestions.

i find the grind through batteries. maybe there are rechargable ones? the n/c on my bose ones just stopped working. when the batteries would run low, it would flicker on/off and drove me crazy.

Ah, that's helpful Turtle. Thanks.

Elizabeth uses BOSE and really likes hers.  Sometimes I'm loud and need to be cancelled out. Lol

^ funny, Rob.

Thank you all for your ideas, suggestions and help. I ended up with a pair of Bose Quiet Comfort 15's that my sister lent me. They're not wireless/Bluetooth, but very lightweight and cancel most noise. I realized if I'm wearing a Covid mask, a sleeping mask and headphones my head may be more contained than I like. So, this seems like the best solution.

The trip I was going to take has been postponed so my need is also postponed.

Thanks again.

Sorry about your trip Judit.
