Proposal in San Francisco would ban free cafeterias to encourage workers to eat out
“We see it in our business,” Corridor said. “We see thousands of employees in a block radius that don’t go out to lunch and don’t go out in support of restaurants every day -- it’s because they don’t have to.”

Wow that is almost as dumb as getting rid of free markets with a trade war, and then giving welfare to farmers to compensate them for the loss of free markets.
It’s getting harder distinguishing dumb leftist plans from dumb Republican plans

Tech companies in SF
Tech companies in SF subsidize food so the bros will stay at work, get a quick bite there then get back to coding.
Restaurants and food joints are getting shit upon after decades of having companies that don't do this practice. It's bullshit!
I live here and have worked in tech setting up food and doing admin for Rdio which is no longer around. They don't want their bros to stop working and go out and get fresh air, stay at the co. and eat with your work bros, don't lose your train of thought and get back to work quickly.

Not sure if anyone outside of
Not sure if anyone outside of Silicon Valley or San Francisco can understand what it is like living in a society that is so chock full of extremely wealthy tech companies that exist on free money from venture capital and don't actually have to make any money for years.... the effect of this on the immediate community is drastic!
