Good luck Tim. This one seems to be a storm surge event.
Downtown St. Augustine is flooding yet again. I swear that town is going to be gobbled up by the sea before too long. Will be down there on Tuesday. Only bright side is that they pushed the moon shot out to Wednesday so now get to watch it.
Usually Nov hurricanes get turned north by the active jet stream, which as the season demands, becomes stronger and moves south. But as has become more typical in recent years, the Rossby Waves (Planetary large scale circulation features) have shifted, resulting in high pressure herding Nicole into Florida, for a very rare storm making landfall in the US in Nov. Fortunately, it's not that strong, nor large, but will still be wet, windy, with a 2 - 3' storm surge which will likely be the big dog as Ken suggests. At least it's sort of aimed at Mar a Looney Go
Thankfully, the flood waters didn't reach my parents' place, but much of Anastasia Island and downtown are underwater. This is the fourth time the town has flooded since 2016 (and second time this year). St. Augustine has been around since 1565 and has withstood pirate raids, hurricanes, and sieges, but with rising sea levels, I suspect it will soon be swallowed by the sea. I will be down there on Tuesday.

Yep. Ian washed away the beach right up to the houses and Nicole finished the job. I will be flying into Daytona this time and the drive up to St. Augustine on A1A is pretty scenic, but imagine much of it will be impassable (i.e. gone). Nice Buffett reference MarkD. "A1A" is my favorite album of his.
'Well, it was kind of cold that night
She stood alone on her balcony
Yeah, she could hear the cars roll by
Out on 441 like waves crashin' on the beach"
A1A is a beauty but give me the hood of Florida. I am more of an Orange Blossom Trail traveler
Down the highway south i'll go
Wewahitchka to port saint joe
I'm gonna walk the beach with a pirates ghost
We'll haunt that old forgotten coast
I'm gonna trade my car and change my name
Put wesson oil in my bar and chain
I'm gonna fix the roadkill, black bear roast
And get fat on that forgotten coast
No ones gonna find me there
With my steel guitar and my rocking chair
Among the seafood shacks and oyster boats
Hide out on that forgotten coast
No ones gonna find me there
With my fishing pole and my rocking chair
Tell the woman i'll miss the most
He's down on that forgotten coast
Down the highway south i'll go
Wewahitchka to port saint joe
I'm gonna walk the beach with a pirates ghost
We'll haunt that old forgotten coast
I'm gonna cut my hair and change my name
When the percoden won't touch the pain
Tell the one I'll miss the most
He's gone down that forgotten coast
Tell the women I'll miss the most
He's down on that forgotten coast

And for historical reference
And for historical reference let's not forget The Old King's Rd or the King's Highway
>I didn't know which way to go
I'm a new world boy on the old Kings Road
>Lover, I await the day
Good fortune comes our way
And we ride down the Kings Highway
and let's not forget the lesser coast
>His given name was Lucky
His wife's name Annie Brown
Run outside the law
And they chased him right on down
Lucky faced the lawman
The captain drew his gun
They put him with a sling blade
On U.S. 41
That's right, U.S. 41
tom petty forever!
